if it's dictated. If it's not dictated as part of the time, I don't add it. Some dictators will just say *0-8-hundred* and I just transcribe it 0800.

then what in the H**l am I doing wrong. I just did 1 1/2 hours of dictation with 1350 line count and it took me like 12 hours. I did 4 hours last night uninterrupted. the rest this morning with little interruptions from my child (dh was home) and a couple breaks and lunch.
I thought 1350 lines were supposed to be full time work. That is what I have been hearing from so many people.
Now I am confused and really feeling like a failure as an MT. Maybe this is not my profession!
with time are you supposed to put the word hour after the time, i.e. 1600 hours

Sorry moderators - I'm editing my own post right now....I forgot, some would interpret that word as a bad word. Truly sorry!
Here's my repost:
While I feel I'm an excellent MT, I refuse to get as EDITED as some about this subject disc versus disk....one being from Latin and one being from the Greeks....
We follow a Greek calendar but the Egyptian one was here before that.......
People need to be a little more flexible generally speaking but also with words that are accepted either way, not have a virtual STROKE over it.

You should ask your employer about account specifics, but the way I was taught was that if "hours" is dictated, then you should put "hours" and not "h."

I have done all of these years, but some physicians will allow you more time as long as you are reliable. It also depends upon whether they use it for billing purposes.

Subject: 0618 hours
Military time is based on a 24-hour clock. "06" is 6 a.m. 6 p.m would be 1800 hours. You just add or subtract 12 to the time on the clock after noon to get the p.m. times.
I hope this clarifies. If you have any other questions, plase feel free to ask and I'll try to explain better.

It usually takes me twice the time to transcribe the work. If the doc is easy and you can go right from one template/document to the next, it should only take you like 4 hours at the most. 10-12 hours is an awful long time. What kind of interruptions are you getting.

Subject: mph is the correct way to abbreviate miles per hours, however,
if that is what he dictates, then I would use mph, or you can also spell it out miles per hour, both are acceptable, sometimes also depends on the client preference. If you spell it out though, you can get more characters for your line count!

person, even one person from a Cannabis site! The MRI info was probably keyed in by a lay person also. There no reference for "brachioplexy" in any Stedman's reference, any Dorland's reference, Taber's or even in the rxlist.
Did you notice the other misspellings in the Google listings?
Brachioplexy makes no sense. It's brachial plexus, brachial plexopathy.
Best not to be facetious with an MT with over 30 years' experience, with a 99-100% QA rating at all times.
You still didn't define "brachioplexy" which is what I asked.
No wonder we're losing our work to a foreign country.
