"breech" as you did.  A dead give away that an MT most likely wrote that message.  Muscle memory is hard to overcome.  You unwillingness to go private to show your true identity didn't bolster your claim of being genuine.  You were right about this not being a place for MTSO executives.  Most would likely post on the company board, not the word board where all the drama took place.  But, what do I know?

I hate it when the doctors/PAs prounounce diabetes MELLitus as diabetes mellITUS like it's some kind of inflammation or something.

From Dorland's.com:

diabetes mellitus (di″ә-beītēs melīĭ-tәs)

Good grief - you're a highly educated person.  You should know how to pronounce the medical terminology and medications.  Sorry.  Just tired and crabby todayd.

I think it should be - dieting or exercise; he is simply "too busy". The patient is likely just saying I'm too busy....so I just just quote what was probably actually said by the patient. ; )

It always used to be tendonitis, now the change.

And you say extend/extension so why not distend/distension?

When I first started transcribing again after a hiatus of about 15 years, I had to put "distension" in my AutoCorrect so that it would automatically change it to "distention" until I could get used to it.

There's an ENT doc who is about to drive me insane! I can't find just one word.
Subject: There's an ENT doc who is about to drive me insane! I can't find just one word.

I've wasted about an hour today looking for this one word the dictator uses over and over. I'll copy the sentence:

"Larynx and pharynx examination reveals normal adenoids, ____________, eustachian tubes, pharyngeal walls, piriform sinuses, epiglottis, false and true cords immobility to mirror and direct laryngoscopy."

The missing word sounds like "coin-ee." I've pulled old reports and everyone has left it out. Also can't tell for sure that he's saying immobility. Doesn't seem like immobility of the vocal cords would be desirable. Shouldn't it be mobility?

Somebody out there must be better at ENT than I.

Pes plano valgus with gastroc constracture, forefoot varus, left side, is correct. Technically, in OP report headings, I was always taught to spell things out like "gsstrocnemius" even if the doc abbreviates because it is a main heading, but it also goes with your account. Hope I have helped!!

I'll try to help you, but...

I agree with the other poster.  I mean this in the nicest way possible, so please don't take this wrong.  A little research could have answered these for you.  Here goes anyway...Astelin nasal spray, Scalpacin, ranitidine (you had this one right, googling it would have confirmed it), Feldene, bupropion hydrochloride, and Temovate (this one may not be what you need, google for more info).

If you don't have drug reference books, Quick Look Drug Book is a great book.  Also, you can go to www.fda.gov and then click on drugs, and it will take you to the drugs@fda site, which is great because you can enter just 3 letters of the word.  Also, if you know what the drug is used to treat, type in that condition in google, and you can often find several drugs listed for that condition.  For example, "stop smoking medications" will pull up bupropion hydrochloride.

Good luck!

I type them, even though they come up on spell check.  I have  never had a report back with any of those types of words corrected.  If the doc says it, I type it and the docs seem to do that a lot these days.
