If a doctor dictates "WBC count of 10.9 thousand" How would I type that all in numbers using 0's? I am having a brain freeze this morning. TIA

Page 389, 2005 BOS under thousand says "Quantities dictated in the form 'four point two thousand' may be transcribed as 4.2 thousand or as 4200", so both are correct.

the 6.8 is 6.8 thousand, WBC on CBC is known to be in thousands. sm
Subject: the 6.8 is 6.8 thousand, WBC on CBC is known to be in thousands. sm
I do have some docs who dictate it as "6800" and others who dictate it as "6.8 thousand" and others simply as "6.8."
I know, from my education, that WBC on a CBC is in thousands. But i transcribe it however they dictate it.
I can understand how an MT who "always did it" one way could have trouble typing it the other way when she knows it's technically correct either way.

I would type it under PLAN and type what is dictated.
Subject: I would type it under PLAN and type what is dictated.
I have had that happen to me before, and I was told by QA to not move things around in the report, maybe that is the same for you, but if I were typing this report, I would type it in the order as is dictated, even if that means typing it under the heading PLAN. Also, his vitals were probably taken at the end of the exam as they were repeated, so it would make sense to type them again under that heading. Hope that helps!
