You know, I have been doing this since 1983, hospital, clinic, in-house, nationals, etc., and I was not trying to say that it was impossible, only that I had not personally heard it, I just thought if you could double-listen, because being an Operative MT especially these last few years, I had PERSONALLY never come across that, even in lower extremity surgery with elderly patients, but I was not saying you were wrong. I am really disappointed, because it seems like some MTs here are treating this board as a personal challenge or contest, who can get the best answer first, and I am the first to know my own limitations, I just share what I PERSONBALLY know. Some (minority) like to criticize other people's answers. If you know better, that is great because you can really help the questioning MT. Why be rude when someone posts and states that they are trying to be helpful? Wow, talk about egos.

right now I am a full-time OP MT and have done thousands, I have never heard of the surgeon putting the tourniquet up over 275 mmHg, mostly I get 250 mmHg, I didn't want to cut in, just wanted to give a shout out for help to you!!

Will check BMP to recheck sodium. I think this was s/l falsely (or could be possibly) low due to her glucose of 280.
Is anyone familiar with this? Is it possible for sodium to be falsely low in the context of high glucose?
Thanks..

You will notice that they say "per physician reading" a lot. In fact, I have this short-keyed as "ppr."

Sometimes you have to go with what it "sounds like" by what you read, or your first guess!!

Well, certainly looks like this thread fostered discussion AND assisted the OP as well. Evidently some of our colleagues adhere to the "knowledge is power" credo and feel it's better to hoard what they know rather than help out a fellow MT. I've used this board (as a last resort after exhausting my other resources) and the help I have gotten has been invaluble.
Glad to help.
