I know I'm a little old lady who is very fixed in my ways, but do I need to type this phrase with a capital G? I guess if I must I will, but it looks strange to me. Got QA'd on it and lost some points. Tx.

Also, I worked in a lab for many years, and gram-negative and gram-positive are not capitalized. Gram is the name of the doctor or scientist who came up with the staining test, Gram stain, so that is capped.

Also, just FYI, gram-negative is not capitalized.

I have an email in to my supe to clarify this, but how do you transcribe "gram-negative" in a report?
Capitalized or not?
I have done it both ways and have been counted off each time for it, so I am looking for a little clarity here!
TIA!

I had QA correct this:

Anyone have an opinion on this? Thanks!
