I think you might consider Cozaar, hydrocortisone, Norvasc, Toprol (or is the dictator saying metoprolol), Pravachol, Aranesp.

The Quick Look Drug Book I found to be the best when all I had were books to look up things.  You can try www.rx.com and www.drugs.com or www.medilexicon.com

Good luck!!!

Use your drug book and rely on it

Just because they pronounce badly, depend on your drug reference resources. You have to ignore the bad pronunciation and rely on your resource materials. It is amantadine just as it says in your drug book
relying on drug book
Subject: relying on drug book

I had checked my drug book as well as an online reference and did a Google search.  However, I often find that some medications are not in my reference materials and I found spelling for both ways with the Google search.  (Posters often misspell things when posting on the internet).  When I looked up what amantadine was used for, I found that it was an antiviral agent for Influenza or viral infection.  This is not what it was being prescribed for, so I thought just maybe there could be such a drug that sounded similar.  It wouldn't be the first time I have run into this.  Thanks for you input.
Try Tem.. check your drug book.

And I was wondering if he may be referring to a dept at hospital for prosthesis fitting, as he later mentions IPOF/IPOP again as a consultation.

I'm thinking that the doc may not have completed his train of thought. He goes from saying the patient has what he thinks is a MRSA infection just above the stump, then he's dictating something else. Previous notes are no help, as they read as a disjointed thought process as well.

Oh well - thanks for your help!

In the Sanders Pharmaceutical Drug Book 2008 it shows Benicar HCT, no slash
Subject: In the Sanders Pharmaceutical Drug Book 2008 it shows Benicar HCT, no slash

HCT is hydrochlorothiazide and when together, Benicar HCT means hydrocholorthiazide. It should not have to be spelled out and cannot be mistaken for hydrocortisone because there is no such thing as Benicar hydrocortisone. I would leave as is as your QA and others have stated. Hopefully this clears it up.
