We didn't have enough info. Now we know how to answer.

Fluconazole comes as a tablet and a suspension (liquid) to take by mouth.
So the answer is that this medication could either be mg or ml (or mL), so your dictator misspoke meaning one of the two. If the child is an infant, I would suspect it was given as a liquid, so ml. And I have had MDs misspeak mm for ml before, but I wasn't going to say that until I was sure what drug we were talking about.

Knowing what they were looking for or what the study was done for or what the findings were at the end, all of these might be clues pointing to what particularly they were checking.

The first poster was obviously correct too. I don't know why it didn't come up with that when I searched it. It has just been one of those days.

So, in this light, I believe that Flybye's post is the most correct and thanks, Flybye, for teaching me something today!!!

Thanks a million for your help and also for the website link!! Of all the specialities I really have a lot of trouble with pulmonology. There seem to be so many tests or measurements that as an average person I've never even heard of. This is MUCH appreciated.

I went ahead and sent it to QA, but now that I think of it, since all I could hear is the t in 2 and he tends to swallow the first part of most words, it definitely fits, just couldn't get it myself (new account to me and all). Thanks so much, I appreciate being able to get feedback off this board

The reason it didn't occur to people was that you didn't give enough information to let them know it was part of the physical exam, either HEENT or neuro exam. When clues are provided, people are happy to help. Otherwise it's a lot of effort on their part and none on the person asking the question.

you must not have read her post, which states:
"I agree it looks weird, but "appropriate for gestational age" is a compound modifier for "infant." Weird or not, that's the way it is. My opinion, if the correct way looks too "weird" for you and you don't mind getting pinged by QA, then use no hyphens at all because "gestational- age" definitely should not be hyphenated."
Another option, if this is not a verbatim account, would be to re-cast the sentence.
