I have found 1 link to a CAIP unit on a Google search that was an abbreviation for a children and adolescent in-patient unit, but some of the patients they use this term with are not children or adolescents. Thanks for the help and replies. Word sounds like it could be "dies", however this doesn't really make sense in the sentence: Ultrasound done under "dies" the patient underwent paracentesis to remove ascitic fluid. It's probably something really easy, but it's just not coming to me.

I have been listening to this sentence for several days now and I just cannot make it out. The setence reads: Under ultrasound (sounds like it starts with a D), the patient underwent paracentesis for removal of thin, nonpurulent, ascitic fluid. Completely lost!
