Subject: Does anyone know about MS Word 2003 sm
I am starting a new job that uses word 2003, I have a problem with this in that if I have a document and sometimes I go back to correct the document will go crazy and the document will suck all the surrounding words up. I have been unable to fix this even when downloading updates. Does anyone know who I could go to or has anyone even had a problem like this. The hourglass will just come up and it will just keep on going. I have to totally close down the program. Again if I press enter or am editing a document the document all of a sudden goes crazy and sucks all the words up like a vacuum. The icon next to the OVR just keeps turning pages and will not stop. AHHHHH

Word 2003/expansions
Subject: Word 2003/expansions
I am having trouble expanding yo for -year-old in word 2003. I had it put correctly in autocorrect but messed with it and now it will not expand. I was told that I needed a helper to make it expand a couple of years ago and used the semicolon after the age 53;yo and hit the space bar and it would come out correct. Now it leaves the semicolon in the text, it does not just disappear like it did when I put it in autocorrect as I was told before. Does anyone know how to help me to get back on track here.

Thanks so much. Now I will leave it alone and not mess with it any more to screw it up. Like they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Thanks again!
I have a question on macros in MS Word 2003. Thanx!
Subject: I have a question on macros in MS Word 2003. Thanx!
I have turned off my macro function somehow in MSWord. I can't record or play macros. I get an error message 'compiled error - invalid outside procedure'. I have tried many things, I have changed my security to low, but still cannot run macros. I have gone online and have tried suggestions on 'visual basic editor', but still nothing. I need help, I do not use a word expander, I create and use macros and insta-text for myself. If anyone has any suggestions, please share!
I also posted this question on the Main Board.
Thanks so much!

that before. Do you current up-to-date anti-virus programs on your computer? You may want to check that out, or better yet, call a computer shop nearby and ask their advice. Once I had over 70 viruses on my computer, and had to have the entire hard drive wiped out and everything put back in. Once it gets that infected, you have to basically start over, and it would do really weird things like you are describing.

she was looking for the plural form of decubitus, saying she got stumped by it. I responded very simply to that. I did not feel I needed to correct her use of "pleural" as was not her question and just quickly wanted to help her, and checked my medical references to do so. I pointed out that there are no plural form for decubitus. This is all correct. What is your problem. I was trying to help an MT with correct and verfified medical transcription help, now I know why I stay away from any message boards, always someone who wants a fight. Whatever.

word endings word list?
Has anyone seen any kind of lists dealing with word endings? I've often thought I wanted to create one. You know the doctor who dictates "mhmmpfectomy", etc. Surely someone else must have felt this way too?

I hate even asking this question because I'm sure it is something everyone has heard, but lately I have been doing so many oncology and renal reports that I am getting rusty with everything else.
Doctor mentions a distal radius fracture with "dorsal translation across the pyses of the distal foramen."
I can't find the word pyses. I know how I spelled it is not correct. But can someone please help!!?
TIA.

Hi, CC ...
I'm sorry that I don't have an answer for you regarding "pex", but I have just contacted a GI doctor friend of mine to ask him if he is familiar with the word. You said that it was used in a sentence with the phrase: "the esophagus was pexed", so I thought that maybe, since he does EGDs, he might be familiar with that word.
Once thing I ask ... please ... when you find your answer - and you will - please post it on the board so that we who are just learning surgcal dictation can add it to our repetoire of weird words. PLEASE? Thanks, and good luck. I hope I have an answer for you later this evening, or that someone else does. Judy H.
