TM stands for appx 20 or more things, so you cannot guess which one. Also, the same goes for LAM. It stands for seven different things and you cannot guess which one.

I was taught in this situation to leave it as said. My account even specifies in assessment and plan to never abbreviate except in this case when you cannot 100% verify what the doc means if there is more than one meaning to the abbreviation.

 Hope this helps
can't you just leave it abbreviated, or do you have to spell it out. I would leave as dictated.

Client profile dictates whether or not to give this dictator mets or metastasis.....his saying *met* was wrong.  I would've given him *mets* unless the client profile allows expanding of words, and in that case I would've given them *metastasis*

 Any advice will be appreciated.
In many reports, I have heard doctors dictate "mets," which I would like to expand when necessary but sometimes am just not sure if singular or pleural expansion applies, e.g., "He has mets to the pelvis," (and then later on dictates) "He is thought to have probable liver mets."  So, would each example I gave be expanded as metastasis or metastases, since there's more than one location of spread but each area of the body is dictated separately?   correct abbreviation for metastasis?

 Subject: long liver

I posted this on the main board and it disappeared so I'm trying again.  Word help is not what I'm looking for though.  I'm trying to find information on having a long liver....not an enlarged liver, but a long liver which I have been told can be a normal variant.  In searching google for abnormal, long, length, etc., I am not coming up with anything pertaining to a long liver.  I know it sounds weird.  It is not a common thing to have but some people do and I would like more information.  TIA.
