doc says Theo-Dur then that is what you type. We are not in the business of changing the dictation when it is correct. If you can verify your spelling through legitimate sources then use that and add the corrected word to the spellcheck.

I have found several misspellings in mine, and they were not ones I put in, came with the program, so what I do is put the correct one in the spellcheck and make an expander with the incorrect spelling so that in case I should spell it that way, the spellcheck will not just skip it, it will be automatically corrected.

sometimes they use a "quick check" SOAP (Suction Oxygen Airway Pharmacology), so I think I'd just go with a generic quick check, not any special equipment or test name... :)

supposed to repeat what was dictated in the preop dx as the postop dx, and never, ever put "same." Also, there should never be abbreviations in any diagnosis, impression, conclusion, operative titles, etc.

When in doubt, you're never wrong if you go by BOS and your QA person should have the smarts to recognize this. However, account specifications get the final vote, so ask your QA what the account prefers.

BTW, going by BOS rules usually garners the MT more characters to count$$!! It pays to be correct!
