numerals. Always arabic.
However, you will see a variation on the typing of BIRADS depending on who you are typing it for. The copyright lists it as BI-RADS, federal guidlines are supposed to dictate how it is typed but have worked for numerous centers that type it anywhere from BIRADS to BI-RADS to BiRADS. Categories however should always be arabic (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 0)

A good tip that I rcvd either here or on MTNetizens email group.....
In oncology at least:
Staging is in Roman numerals, and remember by reciting "The Romans are on the stage"....
Hence stage III breast cancer, etcetera...
Class, grade, etc, are with Arabic numerals...
I cannot speak, though, for other specialties..

That was 30 years ago. Now they prefer Arabic numerals. I was rather disappointed; it was one of the few times you could trot out Roman numerals!
Roman numerals for stages are used

only for cancer the majority of the time. There are some exceptions, but the majority of the time it is roman numerals. For example, kidney disease is arabic, fractures are arabic. If it is not associated with cancer then it is more than likely arabic. You can always look it up and tell which is which, which is BOS2 suggests.

From googling I suspect it should be Garden type IV fracture. There are hits where it is referred to as grade, but the ones that call it a type look more authentic to me. More research might be in order.
