No, it's definitely not cetacaine and I don't think it's articaine either.  I've transcribed for this same doctor for more than 13 years and he does a lot of endoscopy reports.  He's now using this "azactocaine" in most every report, so I'm thinking it's something new.  He says it very clear and I swear it sounds like AY-ZAK-TOE-KANE.  I've tried several times calling the endoscopy lab at the hospital where he does his procedures but I can never get an answer.

Thanks for your help.

Azactocaine spray?
Subject: Azactocaine spray?

Upper endoscopy report....doc says:  "The throat was sprayed with azactocaine spray..."

  Azactocaine?  Izactocaine?  Eczactocaine?
I tried googling this and came up with nothing.

Any help would be appreciated!  Thanks!

Azactocaine spray = Extracaine spray
Subject: Azactocaine spray = Extracaine spray

I finally reached the doctor.  He said it should be "Extracaine"....which is really strange because that doesn't appear to be too hard to pronounce and yet what he says sounds nothing like that, but okay..... :)

Thanks everyone for your help.
