3- to 4-mm tumor is what I'd put if there is a noun following the measurement.....or 3 to 4-mm tumor....


when they speak of cannulas I put 3- and 4-mm cannulas were used (or cannulae when and if the doctor says that).


when they say the tumor was 3 to 4 mm in size (is how I type that); 3 to 4 mm in size.
