There was a large perforation of the sigmoid colon present in an area markedly filled with stool. There was large s/l skivus stool present both in the colon and into the peritoneal cavity.

Okay, this patient has a hx of a "sigmoid colectomy with colostomy" and is now scheduled to have a "colectomy takedown." Wouldn't that have to be a colostomy takedown? Is she using the wrong term? Or is a colectomy takedown a valid term?

I had a blank on a podiatry exam that my QA filled in like this...
"would recommended a modified Weil osteotomy to decompress the joint along with opening up and cleaning up any osteophytes and possibly a colectomy of the second metatarsophalangeal joint."
I had a blank where the word colectomy is. I've never heard of a colectomy of the MTP joint. I did a search but didn't find anything. I'd like to document it if it exists.

I actually had that surgery. It is common to have a colostomy and then six months later have it reversed or sometimes they call it a takedown. There is a cecostomy that is a fecal catheter if I am reading right so it could be either colostomy or cecostomy.
An ileal resection is the treatment, so I don't know how it was put in as part of the disease.
Colectomy takedown could mean reanastomosis.
