lateral "trans" sphincterotomy
Patient has an anal fissure. Schedule for what sounds like "lateral trans sphincterotomy". Anyone heard of the "trans" part? Maybe that is not what she says. TIA

I just don't understand the fissurectomy. He is a clear speaking doctor so there's really no trouble hearing what he says.

I'm a little confused, the doctor dictates "He is at a point where he is disabled by the anal fissure pain, and I have recommended surgery in terms of an anal fissurectomy and lateral internal sphincterotomy.
There is no such thing as an anal fissurectomy but I swear that is what he is saying, and I would think it would be a fistulectomy but through the whole dictation it sounds like he is saying fissure. I am a little confused with this. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
