I don't see the problem with people that voted for Obama just because he is black. Most people vote for republicans "just because they are republicans" and most people vote for democrats "just because they are democrats".

My mother has always voted republican because she was raised that a "good Christian" would only vote republican and therefore she followed the rules - never mind whether she liked what they had to say or not - just go in there and vote republican. This time she voted democrat for the first time in her life because she liked what Obama had to say better than McCain (and no, my mother most definitely is not waiting for a handout)...

My grandmother spent her entire life voting republican because she was taught to do that - and as soon as my grandfather died (and she no longer felt like she would cancel out his vote), she started voting democrat.

I know lots of people who have never voted on the issues, but vote just because they were taught that there is only one party to vote for -

So what is differnt in choosing a president just because he is black? And, just a little FYI, most black people always vote democrat anyway, so whether he was black or white, that's the way they would have voted.
