Plus the fact that he is now surrounding himself with people from the Clinton administration, my guess is because he didn't get where he's at without a lot of help and now he has to cash in all those IOUs by making certain appointments, either for those people directly or for friends of those people. He's in so deep that he's not going to be the one running the country at all! I'm with the poster that said she was hiding for the next four years - it's gonna be ugly.

Why would you call cutting out Guantanomo Bay a weakness? I hated that place from the beginning. Why would you just pick men up and lock them away forever when there is no proof that they are terrorist and you are not even trying to find out who is or who is not? Why hold them forever? There have been numerous reportings after 9/11 of people being held captive by our government and then it be shown that they were not involved in terrorism in any way. There should be a trial process for those men. If they are found guilty, keep 'em, if not then let them go back to their families.
I don't see any mixed signals from Obama. He has been very definite about wanting to get rid of Osama Bin Laden, and very definite about getting out of Iraq. That sounds like a good plan to me. We never belonged in Iraq - Bin Laden country is where we should have been.
YES - weakness.
Obama has not proven himself to be a strong person. He has promised everyone everything and they will be collecting on what he has promised them (if they haven't already. I've heard they are but I cannot put a source to it. He is weak because he keeps changing his mind. First he campaigns on the promise he is going to bring the troops home immediately. Now he plans to leave them them there for at least the next 5 years (or longer), and he's going to be sending them to every dangerous area. There are so many issues he's flip flopped on. Guantanamo bay???? That was already in the works to close that down and if McCain was elected it would still be shut down. That is not Obama's idea to close that down. Also, what we need to watch out on is the whole birth certificate issue. If he was not born in the US but is hiding that and it is not resolved he will be blackmailed for the rest of his term, plus all the issues he decides to push will never be valid and he won't be able to do anything.
As one person said "Obama is a world tragedy in the making". He is a puppet of the of the same clique of bankers that ran the Carter administration. (FYI - the Carter adminstration was a disaster and one of the worst economically).
So he is being groomed by certain people and he has no idea what is going on. He is just doing what he is told to do. That's one of the things that makes him weak.
Just because you have a strong speaking voice does not mean you are strong morally.

Even though Obama has talked the talk about hunting down bin Laden and stamping out al-Queda, time will tell, and we will see what he will do.
He also want to cut funding to the military. He also wants to shut down Guantanomo Bay.
It sounds to me like Obama has two messages going out...mixed signals look like weakness to me, and obviously to al-Queda.
These people hate Americans, and it probably makes no difference on who is in the white house....we'll just have to wait and see how it plays out.

You should watch the news some. Countries all over the world are praising the US for the election of Obama. I take great pride in perhaps the restoration of our image as the leader of the free world and you should do. What weakness you speak of, I have no idea.
