In Reply to: OK. Let's rephrase. How does JM's new plan - Differ from GW's old one? just curious

Bush is spending like a drunken sailor, and I am not talking about the war. Totally different budget. McCain has said he will not continue that. You believe Obama when he says he is going to change things, I believe John McCain when he said he is.

John McCain wants the war in Iraq to end. Now that we are winning again due to the surge that he pushed that Obama voted against, we can bring our troops home in victory. I have absolutely no problem with that. Obama has said himself that if elected he cannot bring the troops home immediately. So if ending the war is an issue, it is moot. Both of them want to continue the fight in Afghanistan. So there is a war somewhere that will continue, no matter which one we elect.

John McCain says there will be transparency in his administration. That has been a complaint with the Bush administration. It was a problem during Clinton's administration. I am with John McCain on that. He says he is going to change it and I believe him.

Bush has not acted on earmarks and pork barrel spending as he should have. John McCain says he will. HE has a history of doing that in the senate already, much to the dismay of his fellow senators. He says he will act on that as President. I believe him.

Where Bush and McCain are alike, and I agree wholeheartedly...the threat of radical Islam. You confront it, you don't talk to it or run from it. You don't nuance it with "well, there are different factions, and you have to decide which factions..." While he is deciding which faction we could have another 9-11. I believe John McCain and his stand on terrorism, I thank George Bush for keeping us safe since 9-11.

Bush has been resistant to drilling...John McCain listened to the people and changed his mind on drilling in ANWR probably due to his VP pick. Good job, sarah. The Dems have been steadfastedly against drilling...until just recently. Go figure. People are upset. People want us to drill.

These are just a few, but they are important ones. John McCain is not George Bush...they are way separate. Bush, in my opinion, would never admit the republican party needs to be cleaned up. John McCain puts his country and its people FIRST. Not party first. He and palin are the ONLY candidates who do.

Those are a few of the major things where they differ greatly.
