arent they supposed to be on different sides now? (Say, how does that actually work...people who voted for Bush and are now for McCain, which sides of the issues are they really on? Must be hard to keep it all straight...
Oh, (chuckel) remember Bush raking over McCain, and none to nicely a bunch of times when they were running against each other? That was a hoot

So you expect politics to be *pleasant*. I can remember on the other board SM
two of the regular posters leaving and you and your friends celebrating on the board. Ding Dong the witch is dead. Stuff like that. Immature, but that's typical. Still, you celebrated. They left because you HOUNDED THEM OFF. You were relentless in posting multiple times to their every post, no matter what it was about. They said they left for the good of the board. You are leaving because you can't take the heat. Big HUGE difference. If you can't and won't have the strength of your convictions, then what good are you. Thank God our Lord Jesus Christ had more backbone.
It is called putting aside partisan politics for the
.
McCain's wife is an HEIRESS, remember?
And you don’t remember on 9/11 about Bush?
The entire country did not know where he was, up flying around while the country was in shock. Oh, not only that- what about Katrina? Talk about a weakling- he personifies the very meaning. Telling Brown everything under control while New Orleans sank. You need to think about your posting about weaklings.
And McCain called him "THAT One." So?
Here we go again.
So this is all about religion. Or maybe religion with a little race on top. BUSH is the one who claimed HE was "The One."
People have felt suppressed after eight years of Bush. They're HAPPY that they will have a president who can at least speak in complete sentences.
That's not worship. That's relief and hope that the next four (if not eight) years will be much better than the last eight.
People like you creep me out -- A LOT!
Yuck!
Obama called McCain to issue a
joint statement about the financial bailout. McCain surprisingly an hour later proposed to postpone the first debate. Seems to me McCain is not ready to debate Obama, after all, he doesn't know much about the economy, and that's bound to come up in the debate. Poor ol' guy.
That's why Obama called for a meeting with McCain....(sm)
Obama is going to have to *waterboard* that info out of him....ROFL....
Yeah, I often amuse myself.
Which is exactly why Bush called for...
conservation...or a reduction in use of oil, in his state of the union address, not a complete changeover. You can't fix anything overnight, and scaring people into it and causing even more damage, as this article describes, is NOT the way to do it, and those hawking global warming KNOW that, but it is typical socialism ploy...you get everyone on board by screaming *they are trying to hurt you but WE will save you.* New cause, same song, second verse.
i was actually trying to remember if this happened with Clinton and Bush...
Did Bush give speeches before he became president? I of course cannot remember last month let alone eight years ago.... After the election I noticed how often I saw him speaking out and i thoght it was a little weird since he's not president yet. I understand he is getting a head start and saying what he is going to do etc. etc. but i still find it a bit odd. but again, i can't remember if this is "normal" for the president elect to come in and kind of take over before the actual inauguration date...
I'm wasn't for Bush but you need to remember...Obama is

October 9 after Palin and McCain called him a terrorist
someone yelled out 'kill him' but of course McCain's people say they cannot be sure if it was towards Ayers (spelling?)or Obama.
You are wrong. John McCain called Obama back....sm
personally and agreed to a joint statement. Minutes later, John McCain held a news conference wanting to postpone the debate and suspend his campaign, asking Obama to do the same. Hello?
Of course if Bush did this it would be called "cowboy diplomacy" SM
and that we are creating more acts of piracy.
Bush got his share of being called 'cowboy'
maybe people really wanted to say 'cracker'??
Remember Bush holding hands with Prince Abdullah???
So as far as reading anything into Obama trying to get our nation back on the right track, thank God what was here before no longer around.
Yeah, I remember the "Catholics for Bush" signs during the 2004 election
so much for churches staying out of govt
President Bush is kinda busy right now, you know, a little thing called a hurricaine. sm
Cities ruined, people dead and missing, flooding, looting, stuff like that. Give it a rest.
She was in state politics at the time, not national politics......
how much foreign policy experience did Bill have when he went to the presidency having only been a governor? The same as Sarah Palin. Because he was concentrating on his job...the state of Arkansas (and Paula Jones and what was that stripper's name?). Sarah Palin was concentrating on the state of Alaska.
Good grief. lol. Why don't you poll all the governors in all the states in the union and ask them how much they think about foreign policy?
Bush/McCain/Obama
I already hid my money. Might be if Obama is elected I can bring it out of hiding. Keep it hid if McCain is elected...........more of G.W. Bush.
McCain at the end distanced himself from Bush.....
because he thought that this might bring him victory.
Isn't this, as you state...'changing the message to suit the audience......?'
What better democratic shoo-in did you expect? The WHOLE WORLD supported and would have voted for BARAK OBAMA.
Obama got 44% of the white votes, 2004 Bush got 58% of the white votes.
It was BUSH and MCCAIN who wanted to
not the dems, check your facts
She said she voted for Bush&Mccain.
NM
Obama's campaign called McCain's campaign.
This was reported an hour or two before McCain had his little news conference. Shouldn't take to heart too much of what McCain says as he is a known liar.
No Bush and No McCain. If Hilary is not an option
my vote will go to Ralph Nader. I cannot in good faith vote for any republican or democrat with the state of the nation today. Gas prices, offshoring, etc. It is time we show Washington we are not interested in business as usual. Our country is going down the toilet and yet we continue to vote for the same old, same old. I called my DSL provider for tech support last week and spoke to....AN INDIAN! Same with my mother's DSL provider (2 different companies), yet tech support calls are going to India! No more republican! No more democrat! I QUIT!
McCain voted 90% on Bush's side...
That tells me - OH, YES, all over again. Palin is just a sideshow. They put 'em in office and big business runs the country - puppets - just like Bush. They don't care about the country - they care about MONEY, POWER, GREED.
I think McCain/Palin would be even WORSE than Bush!
^
McCain listens to BUSH... that's a thousand
Ol' Dubya doesn't have the brains to cross the street by himself.
Here is the Obama vs McCain/Bush tax calculator sm
http://alchemytoday.com/obamataxcut/
I will remember that one...if you remember...thou shalt not kill. nm
nm
That's pretty silly.....McCain disagreed with Bush about as much as...
the Dems did. LOL. And yes, I have heard the Obama ad that McCain "voted with Bush" 90% of the time. Problem with that is...Bush can't vote. Only Congress can. Sheeshhhh. LOL.
The present crisis was not caused by Bush or McCain...
both approached the Democrats a total of 4 times trying to get Fannie/Freddie regulated. We can't afford Reid, Pelosi, Dodd, Frank, AND a Democratic president. Whatever else Bush is or is not, he is NOT responsible for this current financial MESS.
Bush III: McCain camp is so desperate they have to resort to swiftboating? nm
nm
No, it says "versus" McCain which is the bush plan so obama is wayyy better duh!
nm
Oh my! I remember him well. I remember we used to call him...sm
tricky d!ck. He lost the election when he appeared at the first television debate against JFK, slam dunk! He was a very crafty, evil man in my opinion and the latest news reinforces my opinion even more. It was so interesting that he eventually did become president years later and proved to be a disgrace to the presidency.
What they want is to be able to bash McCain, bash Bush, and bash Palin...
in private, their own little hatefest, slap each other on the back and high five...they could not care less about any issues. That should be patently obvious. And rather sad.
Why are you McCain people so desperate? You are just like McCain. No plan. Just criticism of the
other candidate. I guess you want the same old thing we have had for the past 8 years. God forbid McCain win with that wild woman, Palin.
That's right. Unfortunately, that's politics.nm

Now, this is politics.....for sure......
All politics aside...I do want to wish everyone a...
very happy Thanksgiving, and I hope you are all able to enjoy it with family and friends...and if some of us have to work, here's hoping they keep the leftovers warm. Happy Thanksgiving!
Politics... LOL
I think it just depends on the person.. some people ACTUALLY dont give a crap about them... at all. which to me is totally foreign... that's ALMOST as bad as being the opposing side to me haha. Luckily my family (or at least the ones i actually spend time with, my immediate ones) we all feel exactly the same way, but even we can get loud and annoying while even agreeing with each other! haha. politics is one thing that I get completely heated about... i sometimes wish i didn't care, but i mean, it spreads to all aspects of my life ya know? DISCLAIMER: sorry about the punctuation, i NEVER use it when i am just relaxing. it does not reflec the kind of MT i am. haha

Not enough crackerjack on the shelf for this election. At least you get a prize.

Today Now!: How To Pretend You Give A S**t About The Election
There are so many funny ones at this site it was hard to decide on one! You'll have to supply the 2 letters above which were refused. What could they be?!
See what I mean? You can't keep it about politics..
you have to stay in your close-minded, one-sided arguements becasue you don't like to hear the truth. That's okay - you stay on your side and I'll stay on mine and we'll just agree to disagree. And about the bridge, I'll take it - I can donate the profit to the Cancer Society. Thanks so much!!!
MTs and Politics
I never realized how many MTs were *********************** conservative ********until I came to this political board. When you advertise that you are voting for the McCain/Palin ticket, you might as well as raise your hand and say "I am *************
say anything politics...
People who think Governor Sarah Palin didn't handle some "gotcha" questions well in a couple of interviews show no interest in how she compares to the Democrats' Vice Presidential candidate, Senator Biden.
Joe Biden is much more of the kind of politician the mainstream media like. Not only is he a liberal's liberal, he answers questions far more glibly than Governor Palin— grossly inaccurately in many cases, but glibly.
Moreover, this is a long-standing pattern with Biden. When he was running for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination back in 1987, someone in the audience asked him what law school he attended and how well he did.
Flashing his special phony smile, Biden said, "I think I have a much higher IQ than you do." He added, "I went to law school on a full academic scholarship" and "ended up in the top half" of the class.
But Biden did not have a full academic scholarship. Newsweek reported: "He went on a half scholarship based on need. He didn't finish in the 'top half' of his class. He was 76th out of 85."
Add to Obama and Biden House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and you have all the ingredients for a historic meltdown. Let us not forget that the Roman Empire did decline and fall, blighting the lives of millions for centuries.

All politics aside....
It is very sad that Obama's grandmother passed.
For what it is worth....I don't criticize him for not stopping his campaigning. He did stop earlier to go and see her, and I feel like she would want him to continue.
At any rate, my prayers for his family in what has to be a very difficult time.
That's politics...
What does this have to do with politics?
I see absolutely nothing in this news story that has anything to do with politics. The only reason you posted this was to try to incite bigotry and hatred towards Muslims. Fortunately, your little plan didn't work and you didn't get the response you wanted.
