Three years ago he said it was state and local govt who were responsible for this disaster.  Then why is Dubya down there now with his entourage shaking people's hands.  His presence adds so many problems to the already overburdened rescue workers.  Think of the log jams when he goes to a functioning town with security etc, press..  He is just adding that the problems they already have down there.  Can that guy make any decisions that are not politically motivated.

precisely because it is an election year.  The pres and VP know they will damage McCain if they show up -- the country overwhelmingly does not like them or their policies. they don't want to remind people (as if) how closely MCcain adheres to their policies.
