Any of you live in the midwest? Just in case you live down the road from me...
I live in Wisconsin and am often also in Minnesota.
No, I'm not a stalker or a weirdo (my opinion, anyway).
Yeah, tell me again how liberals want to live and let live....what a joke!!!! nm
why not just tell the truth? That only extends to liberals.*I have had it with Republicans...* a whole group of people tossed out like garbage. *I will not respond to your posts nor read them.*
As to Ann Coulter...the left has their share..Michael Moore, AL Franken...do you ever look at your own party?
That is the most INtolerant post I have seen here in a LONG time.
Liberals true colors always come out...regardless of how much they say they are the MOST tolerant, and want EVERYone to live and let live...everyone if you happen to be liberal.
We are all Americans...and America is about debate. Tell me, liberal Democrat, again how you care about ALL Americans. Talk about ringing hollow.
I am in Georgia... nm

that's only in Georgia - I am using it by the way - nm

well they don't in Georgia -
they won't share the nature of the visit, but they sure share the bill at a private doctor's office.
GEORGIA!!!
Can't even get a job with a degree because they hire minorities first!
Speaking from experience!
LOL
Wondering about Georgia. s/m
Are they like Arkansas? We may be hillbillies but we have enough sense to step on politicians when they don't deliver. The Democrat who replaced Mike Huckabee got the mess straightened out in this basically Republican state. I don't know of any individual cities who have their hand out here either. Seems like states, cities AND people all want a piece of the free money. Like all the posts here and elsewhere waiting for Obama to fill their hands with all that free cash. EVERYBODY needs to wake up:
This is a little story about four people named everybody, somebody, anybody and nobody.
There was an important job to be done and everybody was sure that somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it but nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was everybody's job.
Everybody thought that anybody could do it but nobody realized that everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that everybody blamed somebody when nobody did what anybody could have done.
georgia editorial
This is an editorial that appeared in the Griffin, GA newspaper, written by Pastor Herb Flanders of the United Methodist Church.
Dear President Obama,
As I gather the Sunday before Memorial Day to worship with two United Methodist congregations I pastor in Griffin, Ga, I'll think about some of your recent comments. I'll be thinking of what you told a crowd of about 2,000 in Strasbourg, Germany, as you spoke of our nation's views of Europe - "Instead of celebrating your dynamic union and seeking to partner with you to meet common challenges, there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive." The gray, balding heads on the people who worship with me attest to their years of toil and labor on this Earth. They are, as Jesus said, the 'salt of the Earth." They are grandmamas and granddaddies, blue collar folks who worked hard to build a community and raise families, to give to others when they had precious little for themselves. They continue to do these things today.
Salt of the Earth they are and heroes to boot. When this nation called they answered with a resounding 'yes' and went where Uncle Sam asked them. A couple of months ago, we laid John Busbin to rest. Like you, he visited Europe on behalf of the U.S. He beat you there by 65 years and spent his time marking and clearing mine fields, not giving speeches. Rather than being arrogant, dismissive or derisive, John partnered with the French and others to meet a common challenge. Others did the same, sailing on ships, slogging through mud or soaring through the air because evil and tyranny were well on their way to taking over the world.
I wish you'd come May 24th and sit with these folks as we sing America the Beautiful and America. I'd like it if you could sit up front with me when Maxine Bunn and Jerry Turner do a medley of military service hymns and the veterans or spouses of deceased veterans stand when their branch's hymn is played. They grab hold of the pew in front of them to pull themselves to their feet. I know I'm in the company of giants. I'd love for you to meet Janie Worthy and understand those tears that still glisten on her cheeks each Memorial Day Sunday. Janie married John Pershing Botkin in August 1943. Their daughter Gail was born Aug. 10, 1944, three or four months after John shipped out to Europe. Janie, 19, went to St. Mary's, Ohio to stay with her in-laws after Gail was born. One Sunday afternoon in early December, farm families began to call each other as the postmaster's Model A made its way down the country roads. They knew that car carried news that would shatter a family and were trying to figure out where he was headed. He stopped in front of Janie's in-laws' farmhouse. Her daddy-in-law walked out to meet him and learned that John was killed in action Nov. 11, 1944, serving with the Army in Alsace. Cpl. Botkin never saw, held or kissed his little girl. As a father, you can empathize with Janie's salty tears.
Perhaps if you could come you'd see why your words hurt so many so much. America may be many things and she certainly isn't perfect, but heroes with whom I share my life have hardly been arrogant, dismissive or derisive of Europe. They've given themselves to save Europe when Europe couldn't save itself. So, Mr. President, get out of Washington for a weekend and take a trip down to Georgia. We'll feed you some barbecue over in Williamson and I'll introduce you to some friends of mine, some everyday giants and ordinary heroes.
God bless,
Herb Flanders
Based on what is going on right now with Russia and georgia...
I would say looking in his eyes and seeing KGB is pretty much on the mark. McCain knows who and what Russian "management" are. You can see what they think about negotiations. Basically told the world up yours, if we want Georgia back we are going to take it. Why doesn't Obama go visit them like he did Germany and give a speech about how he is a citizen of the world and see how far it gets him. Sigh....Careful what YOU ask for.
Georgia used to be part of the USSR before...
the USSR broke off. It is a democracy now. If Georgia is in NATO now, we would be obligated as a NATO signatory to defend them. That is what he meant. As would other NATO countries.
I really don't think Russia wants to get into a confrontation with NATO. That does not concern me as much as them playing war games with Chavez in Venezuela. That is very concerning.
Sorry, I meant "in Georgia"....nm
Since when is Georgia a blue state?
Just wondering.
I am talking about the HOPE grant in Georgia
It comes from our lottery money. Will look up the other Hope that you are talking about.
Looks like a pretty good size crowd at the Alamo and in Sacramento and in Georgia.
Guys, I know you all worship at the feet of the Obama false idol, but for God's sake turn the channel every once in while!
Obama Justice Department Decision Will Allow Non-Citizens to Register to Vote in Georgia
Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel issued the following statement following the U.S. Department of Justice’s denial of preclearance of Georgia’s voter verification process
Atlanta - “The decision by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to deny preclearance of Georgia’s already implemented citizenship verification process shows a shocking disregard for the integrity of our elections. With this decision, DOJ has now barred Georgia from continuing the citizenship verification program that DOJ lawyers helped to craft. DOJ’s decision also nullifies the orders of two federal courts directing Georgia to implement the procedure for the 2008 general election. The decision comes seven months after Georgia requested an expedited review of the preclearance submission.
“DOJ has thrown open the door for activist organizations such as ACORN to register non-citizens to vote in Georgia’s elections, and the state has no ability to verify an applicant’s citizenship status or whether the individual even exists. DOJ completely disregarded Georgia’s obvious and direct interest in preventing non-citizens from voting, instead siding with the ACLU and MALDEF. Clearly, politics took priority over common sense and good public policy. “This process is critical to protecting the integrity of our elections. We have evidence that non-citizens have voted in past Georgia elections and that more than 2,100 individuals have attempted to register, yet still have questions regarding their citizenship. Further, the Inspector General’s office is investigating more than 30 cases of non-citizens casting ballots in Georgia elections, including the case of a Henry County non-citizen who registered to vote and cast ballots in 2004 and 2006.
“It is important to underscore that not a single person has come forward to say he or she could not vote because of the verification process. Further, while DOJ argues that the process is somehow discriminatory, the historic voter turnout among Hispanic and African-American voters in the 2008 general elections clearly says otherwise.
“This decision provides a specific example of the inherently illogical and unfair nature of Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act. It is a sad day for the rights of our state and for the integrity of our elections. I remain committed to continuing the fight for citizenship verification. In the coming days, I will consider every option available to the state, including the possibility of legal action.”
Background:
As required by law and ordered by federal courts in October 2008, the eligibility of new applicants to register and vote is checked against the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) and Social Security Administration databases to ensure that individuals registering to vote report similar information. If information in these databases does not match information reported on the voter registration form, the applicant is asked to clarify the information. Additionally, if the applicant previously reported to DDS that he or she is not a U.S. citizen, that person is asked by a registrar to provide proof of citizenship.
Prior to the November 2008 General Election, Secretary Handel sent letters to 4,771 voter registration applicants whose records at DDS indicated they were not U.S. citizens, asking them to provide documentation of their citizenship. As of March 2009, 2,148 of these applicants still have chosen not to resolve the question about their U.S. citizenship.
In the November 2008 General Election, county election officials reported that 599 individuals cast a challenged ballot because the voter had previously indicated to DDS that he or she was not a United States citizen and had not resolved their status with county officials at the time of the election. Of those, 369 ballots were accepted because the voter provided documentation of their citizenship after the election; and 230 were rejected because the individual chose not to confirm his or her citizenship status.
On October 10, 2008, activist organizations including the Mexican-American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF) and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed a lawsuit to attempt to prevent Georgia from verifying the eligibility of applicants to register and vote in the November General Election, including whether those individuals were citizens of the United States.
On October 16, 2008, U.S. District Court Judge Jack Camp denied the motion by MALDEF and ACLU; directed the State to continue the verification process; and acknowledged the State’s requirements to verify information under the Help America Vote Act. In his order, Judge Camp stated:
HAVA requires that Defendant Handel match information in the statewide voter registration database with information from the Georgia DDS and the SSA databases “to the extent necessary to enable each such official to verify the accuracy of the information provided on the applications for voter registration.”
Judge Camp also stated: ...
Well, there it is. She probably forgot though.
xx
I cannot believe I forgot it...I mean him!!! LOL!! nm
Forgot something... LoL
When did Lindsey Graham suddenly become liberal? I believe he was a former JAG and is totally against Bush's torture techniques and military tribunals.
And when GENERAL Colin Powell says something, I put much more credence in what he has to say than in a bumbling authoritarian idiot who never had the guts to set one foot on foreign soil to serve his country.
Bush talks about the professionals, yet he refuses to listen to any of them. And the faithful Bush disciples don't even care that the torture Bush wants will come back on OUR troops, the same troops they claim to support so much, leaving them susceptible to the very same treatment.
Have you noticed how many Republicans are starting to stand up and do the right thing? And have you noticed how angry Bush is becoming in press conferences and interviews? (I thought the was going to hit Matt Lauer the other day.)
Bush's temper is definitely about to explode, and he doesn't look like a very stable person. Elections are less than 2 months away, and if the Republicans lose control, Bush is finally going to have to be accountable to the country. He's getting angrier and I think he's beginning to panic.
Another **terror attack**?
I think we should all be afraid, BE VERY AFRAID. :-(
I forgot to add
Just in case anyone comes back with "oh you just don't like her" - yeah, you're right - I don't like her and for good reason. She is a liar. We had her as first lady for 8 years! Enough! America doesn't need that back, and we certainly don't need her impeached husband back in the white house running around. That good for nothing impeached piece of work is out campaigning as though he is running for President. Both he and his wife are bold face liars they lie right to the camera and everyone's face and their attitude is "so? what are you gonna do about it". So no, I do not like either one of them. Our country was in horrible shape when they were in. NAFTA took away good jobs for people, our military was dessimated, and all the time he stood and lied and lied and lied. So no, I don't like them. P.S. In case your thinking I'm republican - I'm not. I even voted for Clinton the first time. Learned within 2 weeks what a mistake that was.
oh yes....I forgot......
the war is all Bush and McCain's doing....no one elses. Just them. All their fault. Had nothing to do with even the dems who voted to go for it. Hmm. Yes...funny how people always forget that tid bit. I do believe that even Biden voted to go into Iraq.
I FORGOT!!!!!
masturbation is a SIN!!
forgot
forgot one question. We have 2 children, 16 & 13. I think I answered the rest.
I forgot to add
Did anyone catch that now Obama is saying people who make $200 and less. What happened to the $250. This is what I mean. The slimy little worm keeps lowering and lowering his belief of middle income. Soon he will be saying if you make 4OK your above middle income and will be taxed more (less we forget what Clinton did). Which, by the way, Obama will have all his excemptions for all the people making over a certain amount. The people who pay and run Obama are millionaires. Do you really think they are going to sit back and say, yeah Obama take money from me, I don't need it.
Did anyone notice his slick way of making you believe that you will receive the same level of health care that he and his rich friends in cogress receive. Right!
Open your eyes people. You are just oozing with such hatred for someone, and the only reason I can see is that McCain is older because you've never said anything bad about his policies. It's all about looks with you.
What you forgot to say
You forgot to say that you're a racist. Let's be real, and keep it real.
Wow - ignorance must be bliss.
PS - I forgot to add
The RNC investigated this and it was determined valid that he is a natural born citizen.
The DNC never checked out Obama. You gotta wonder why and who put Obama in there.
I forgot to say I wish your son all the best
and hope he has a safe and enjoyable career (?). Not sure if you'd call it a career. I loved my time in the military and learned responsibility, valuable lessons, leadership and respect for others. It was a wonderful time of my life. Met my best friend the first night we were sleeping in the chapel at Ft. Jackson waiting for beds to open up in our basic training unit and we remain as close today as we were when we were together (she now lives in another state). 2 years ago her son joined the Army and he also graduated basic training at Ft. Jackson.
So my best wishes for a healthy and good life for your son.
Oh, I forgot about BBC
When I lived up north I used to listen to the canadian news. Boy talk about getting a different perspective of what Canada thinks of us (and not just political - they are not too fond of us in general). I think film clips are the best way to find out what's going on. I'd rather listen to what Obama has to say rather than listening to Obama and then having someone interpret what he said to me. HA HA HA. (same for any person. I just hate when I watch a video clip and then the news reporters say "What so-n-so was talking about was...." :-) I usually end up yelling at the TV, I do have a mind of my own ya know.
Anyway...just didn't know if people had a favorite.
You forgot........
Bush would sneak in after hours and push legislation through while Congress was in recess..........remember? There is blame to be laid on both sides of the aisle, but Bush will die in infamy because of the horrible decisions he, and his neocons, made.
almost forgot.......if you by some sm
horrible chance happen to get very very ill or hurt and cannot work, you will change your mind about wanting to lower SS benefits.
I have been there and done that. Drew benefits for several years and then went back to work and stopped drawing. Believe me you will be glad you leflt SS alone.
You forgot...
Michael Moore, since he hates America so much, and if we're getting rid of Beck, Hannity, and O'Reilly, we have to throw out Olberman, Mathews, and Maddow, too (just to be fair, 'cause it's all about being fair, right?).
That's right - I forgot....
I question Obama's policies and actions, so I'm a racist.
Thank you for reminding me!

no, it was my bad, because I forgot to put
in my first reply a comma between 'post' and 'and', so it was confusing. Sorry about that!

oh yeah. I forgot.
Evangelical christianity is the only religion to be tolerated and their followers are perfect.
You forgot a few - HW Bush first sm
Also, H Howard Hunt, and Dulles (sp?). LBJ supposedly kept ducking according to witnesses like he was anticipating bullets. Many say he was assassinated due to Kennedy's attempts to pull American out of South Vietnam, and his attempts to dismantle the Federal Reserve Bank according to a book called, the Vatican Billions.
LOL. You forgot a couple....sm
911 gone bonkers brigade (one from Charlie Sheen after he got attacked)and Mike Malloy's - yes, I am a liberal and I shall eat your eyeballs.

Almost forgot...all the others are correct TOO!!
The others that you mention -- they are correct, too (about being on to me). Don't want to hurt anyone's feelings by leaving them out.
Oops, that's right -- all those others are ME!!!!!
PS. Forgot the part about "I don't think
nm
Oops I forgot to add
I'd also like to know what it is about Obama that you love. And also why are you comparing Gov Palin to Sen Obama and not Sen Biden.
Forgot about that one - and that was the biggest lie of all
Just because people love Gore doesn't make him right. Just cos he wrote a book and bought himself a Nobel Peace Prize doesn't mean anything (except he's got a lot of money), and guess where he gets that from. That big ol fat lie he lays on everyone how only people create global warming. By the way do you ever notice its only Americans. So he pours all these phony "carbon credits", which of course benefits his company and he gets money from that. The guy has got one fail proof scheme going. Of course he won't give up any of gas guzzling SUV's, buses, private planes, etc. He won't give up anything he's telling other people they need to give up. Wonder how much electricity and energy it takes to heat his mansion, yet people like me in my 2 bedroom apartment are suppose to cut back more (so he can go on enjoying the good life). Oh Gosh, sorry, did not mean to go off about Algore. The guy is the biggest liar and phony. Now I know where Obama/Bidens thinking lies.
The fact of the matter is that Palin was correct last night. She said people do contribute, however, it is also part of the climate. People need to start ignore Algore and all of his infinite wisdom (NOT) and start listening to the people who have been studying this for years. The people who are not benefitting from spewing absolute garbage and making a profit off of it.
You forgot what you just posted?
xx
You forgot the pedophiles
You're right. I'm from Texas, where we cling to our guns and religion, shoot first, and ask ?s maybe.
O'Reilly did a huge story on the pedophile problem there a few mos. ago with Wendy Murphy. VT is very well known for its lax laws. Check out that story, regardless of what you think of him. It's accurate and just tragic. You'll see how well your elected officials protected those young girls.
Like we say down here, "God Bless Texas!"
you forgot to add that you are a RACIST.
Egads and I forgot to say
I hate "serpents" translated to snakes. LOL
Forgot to mention.
Also the show last night stated that Obama keeps saying we are going to CHANGE and people chant, YES WE CAN. What is this change? Anybody know? Because O'Reilly Factor and everyone else want to know what this CHANGE is. Obama inspires us, but for what? What is this CHANGE he is going to do?
ok,, I forgot about that! Yes, then it serves her right. ..sm
anyways, I am a democrat.
Go, Obama.
P.S. I forgot the famous Fox
assessment of Barack's and Michelle's famous fist bump as a "terrorist fist jab."
If you really NEED a link for this one, I'll provide it.
You're right. I forgot. (sm)
Bush is the "Decider." Bush can do no wrong. Bush has kept us safe since 9/11. (I read something, can't remember where, where the guy said, "I put a sign in my yard reading 'No Elephants Allowed,' and I've singlehandedly kept my family safe from elephants.)
Since this is another incident once again involving KBR behavior that is hazardous to our troops and since KBR is a subsidiary of Halliburton, involvement of Cheney wouldn't surprise me in the least, either. This Iraq war must be very profitable for him.
Either way, as commander-in-chief of the military, the buck definitely stops at Bush's desk.
