I, too, wrote an open letter to the Congress and Senate, emailed all that I could when this TARP, Stimulus, and the last legislation passed back then. You know what kind of answer I received? Nada. No comment. Nothing. That's how much our government cares for us anymore.

Wake up. A lot of items in that letter hold true for a lot of people. Take extra caffeine and read it. It might do you some good.

I've been at the computer all day. I think I'm working harder now than I did before I retired.  Today I've been working on a website for our grist mill restoration project.  I guess I'm a professional nonprofit fund raiser now.  Maybe that statement fits on the politics board since there's a lot of politicking involved.  LOL

I post articles here in order to encourage a debate about the articles.  In your limited Israel-is-always-right-and-anyone-who-questions-that-is-worthy-of-a-rabid-attack attitude, you can't see that and once again wish to control everything, even how people communicate with each other.

All you want to do is tear down, not build anything.  I gave my reasons for posting this article.  In those reasons I expressed some skepticism about Hezbollah's sincerity.  Instead of offering an intelligent response to those reasons, you once again slammed the door of dialogue and showed that your abilities to communicate are so limited that all you can do is berate and insult.  To call me anti-American only highlights your ignorance.  I am absolutely pro-American, and I'm very fearful where President Bush is leading us.  It's the duty of every American to question what he or she sees as failures or inadequacies in the administration that is in power regardless of party affiliation.  I felt the same way during the Clinton administration, and I feel the same way now.

If I were to come on here and say that Hezbollah is rebuilding Lebanon and now the Bush administration wants to compete with them, I would get responses that demand I provide my source, and rightly so.  That is the reason I post the entire article itself.  I want to gauge if it brings the same questions to the minds of other (repeat once again) LIBERALS as it does to me.

You're free to have your opinion of me, but you come off as pompous and controlling, demanding that everyone bow down and kiss Israel's feet.  The mere suggestion that Israel may be even slightly wrong elicits anger and rage from you, and you have shown that repeatedly.

No, you are not obligated to engage in debate with anyone here, but don't whine and complain that you're unable to when someone offers you the opportunity.  Your failure to do so when invited only proves how angry and full of rage you are.

For the record, I have never said you were sent to shut down the board.  It's laughable to even imagine you have the power to do that.  You are no more important or influential than I am or than any other poster on this board is.  Get over yourself already.

And, no, I have no idea which sentence of the original article you find disturbing.  I personally found several of them disturbing, but I refuse to engage in any guessing games with you.

Am I paranoid?  I sure am these days.  I'm pro-peace and I'm living in a country run by a President who is trigger happy and who has done nothing but incite the world.

If looking at Israel objectively is anti-Israel according to your definition, then so be it.  You said previously on this board that just because Israel didn't bother to send any troops to Iraq didn't mean they're an ally.  Please enlighten me.  With the BILLIONS of dollars we give Israel every year, along with weapons, we are definitely an ally to Israel.  Please explain how Israel is an ally to us.  Is it because they grace us with their agreement to take our money and then spy on us?  (I could post a number of articles regarding the spying, but since you don't like it when I do that, feel free to Google it on your own.)  What have they done for us in return?

I have always believed Israel was the underdog in the Middle East and have always favored them.  This is the first time I have ever questioned their actions.  We here in America still have freedom of thought and speech, whether you like it or not.  You know nothing of me, including how I believe.  Your assessment of me is not only wrong, it's absurd and only proves how you interact with people who disagree.  I am very relieved that you are not representative of all Israelis, as it gives me a small sense of hope. 

I doubt your sincerity in stating that I'm not worth the time to answer, considering all the time you spent doing just that.  Another example of your hypocrisy.  No doubt you will waste your time once again responding to this with more hatred and insults, only this time I will let you have the last word, since you are now no longer worth the time it takes to respond.

7. Total budget surplus for FY 2001 was $128 billion dollars.  Here's how W eliminated that and added to the US public debt:

8.    Pubs like to blame dems for opposing oversight on Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae.  They fail to mention that the 2 times during the Bush administration the issue of an oversight agency was entertained occurred in 2003 and 2005…under republican majorities in both House and Senate.  Those dems must have had some help from somewhere.

Back off and take it easy on people.  Absolutely NO MORE personal attacks.  You don't have to like a candidate, but that doesn't make the poster who does any less of person nor do they deserve to be attacked or belittled or called names. 

The same is true for those that are reporting absolutely every little thing on here.  Read the sticky.  Beware of flaming in these posts.  If you are too sensitive to be on a political board, then please don't read the posts. 

discourage you.  Keep spreading the word.  As a previous O supporter, I knew that he was pro-choice.  I did not, however, know to what extreme.  I simply thought he chose to support Roe v. Wade, as many do.  Had it not been for this board, I never would have researched and found out about the FOCA.  There are people on this board who can still be won over.  Keep on "harping"!!!

The people who are trying to keep religion out of politics are the same ones trying to keep it out of our schools, our money, and ultimately our homes.

Personal attacks are not going to be left on the board.  Discuss your views and perspectives, debate, argue but leave off personal attacks. 

Every poster here has the right to their own opinion.  As long as there is no inappropriate language, name calling, hate speech or maliciousness, opinions can be expressed.   While "freedom of speech" may be a right in the US, this is a privately owned site and the degree of "freedom" to say what you want is limited to what the board's administration outlines. 

Whether or not you agree with the morality or position of a particular view is something you will have to moderate within yourself.  You can do this by determining what you will and will not read.  Stop with the personal banter trying to "notify" posters you are not reading their posts any longer, etc.  Simply stop. 

Reading the Politics board is an exercise in tolerance, patience and flexibility.

This used to be a nice place to discuss issues, but no more. It's been taken over by hostile posters. I stayed away for over a month and come back to what???...it's worse then ever!!!! They don't want to discuss issues. They just flame those that have a different opinion.

You have to stay cool and calm and take every post at face value, not get involved in a stupid argument, which is what most of these posts are lately, and not yell or use name-calling.

Freedom of speech does not work on this board and that is why I try not to post anymore. I just read and, sometimes, laugh at some of the most ridiculous ones, then count to 10 if I want to answer in an inflammable way...and leave the board instead.

I need a house. We are living in a basement, the front sided and open so we can have windows, but 3 sides under ground. This was the basement of the home we were going to build on top. Build this place for $10,000 using as much as we could from the old house that was flooded out in ྜ and had to build on higher ground even though we live on a hill.

We won't go into debt now because the county states our place is worth $100,00. Yeah, right. Try to get a loan or HELOC (which we would never do now). We'll live like this until we win the lottery. LOL
