And when Obama takes office, God-willing, I am positive he will be under a microscope like NO president has ever been as there is a different standard set for him and never has a president-elect undergone so much criticisizm BEFORE taking office.
Those "small" businesses are the mom and pop...
type who don't have many employees. The small businesses who will be hurt by Obama's plan employ 25-100 people. More taxes on them, more capital gains taxes, they will downsize or close and stop investing because they can't afford it. There are thousands of those kinds of businesses across this country and they employ a significant number of people. It is not just the business owners who suffer....it is the people they employ.

if we'd stop taxing the crap out of them. This country taxes the crap out of businesses at an alarming rate, when they can go to places like Ireland and have an 11% tax rate. They go to other countries where they don't have to pay those ridiculous taxes. That's the entire problem here. MORE TAXES! Those companies that do stay here, in order to cover their HIGH TAXES, charge you more to cover it for them. That's the point some of us have been trying to make. Obama wants to raise their taxes and I can guarantee you those that are still here will be gone in a flash. YOu get stuck on this big business hiring cheap labor. Well, they would be hiring you if your government would stop taxing the crap out of them.
That's what McCain has said during this entire campaign. STOP TAXING THE CRAP OUT OF THEM and stop running them off and we'll have more jobs brought back here. OBama says TAX TAX TAX them some more and they'll help pay for all of us. BULL!!! Those corporations won't pay him taxes. They up the cost of products and we pay it for them. Obama knows that. This man is a crook through and through....believe what you want. You darn right businesses want huge tax breaks? Wouldn't you? Oh well, maybe not. After all, O lovers love more taxes.
If you're so worried about the little guy who pays too much for his goods, then why not ask Obama why he wants to raise taxes on those very businesses who will turn right around and put them off on you, making everything you buy even higher!
And since you're so down on the big businesses, though I'm not sure what you call big business, who do you think hires everyone else? Poor people? You won't have to worry about the unemployment rate if O gets in there. He'll have taxed and mandated them right out of business and out of this country. The businesses that WILL be hurt are the very businesses you count on day to day and you don't even know who they are. I do. My husband works for one of them. They don't have a big name but they are the very reason you have your grocery store shelves with food on them and many other products. People that think like you don't have a clue all the businesses you use every day that are NOT rich, but they help sustain the very community you live in. They can employ anywhere from 10-200 people and believe me, that is NOT a RICH business but Obama will tax the businesses right out of business. They cannot afford all those mandates and garbage policies he wants to throw in there.
The florist in your town. Well, they're gonna close. They would fall into that MEAN RICH BUNCH all of you hate so much, as well as so many other companies you depend on every day. You've just got your mind so focused on the hugely large corporations, you can't see past that.
Well, when your town starts laying off hundreds at a time from all those businesses you thought you detested but then realize too late those aren't the ones you were thinking about, maybe you'll see it differently then.
Everyone is so focused on all the Wall Street crowd, they have failed to realize that crowd won't be hurting at all. You will and all those businesses that keep you and your community alive and well.

They're middle of the road, just making it businesses. They don't employ 3000 people like big business and they will be hurt the most. Big business will pass the tax increase onto the taxpayers. They'll be able to find loopholes with their 30+ laywers (exageration) who are paid to do that.

Unfortunately for you, my dear, your use of the expression "trailer trash" negates any of your statements as worthwhile. It's rather comical how you rant about the evils of someone with ambition and goals in one sentence, and then in the next sentence insult all those who live in a trailer park. I guess I'm guilty of a little prejudice myself, as anyone who calls anyone "trailer trash" I consider that person a "snob", and a much less desirable person than the one who lives in a trailer park. It's a juvenile and over-used term and actually reveals a flaw in YOUR character.

The retreat snipe, like most of your rhetoric, was so predictable that I included a pre-emptive reference to it in the post... but you probably couldn’t recognize that either. Looks like you need someone to translate English into English for you. That would be the kick ‘em when they’re down reference. Let me break it down for you (AGAIN), to make sure this point does not go over you head.
I have no choice but to “retreat.” That would not be on account of “you win / I lose”....that’s your mentality, not mine. No white flag waving, no surrender in sight. Fact is, I have to look for a job. I will be the first to concede victory to you in the sense that it isn’t too hard to win arguments you will be having with yourself in my absence. So the kick ‘em when they’re down reference refers to taking advantage (i.e., taking the ball and running with it) of that imperative (needing to look for a job)....which is precisely what you are doing in this response.
I’m not going to explain this more than twice to you....that ought to be enough for you to grasp this basic concept. Pen names, aliases and assumed names are something I use within the CONTEXT (something you seem to hate as much as fact) of the post-at-hand. It adds a little dimension and intrigue to the board. Aside from the job search, I had one of those life-and-death immigration fires to put out last night for a Somali woman, here illegally, trying to declare political asylum for herself and her two youngest daughters, ages 6 and 8, in an effort to spare them from female genital circumcision / mutilation, a fate she and her eldest daughter could not escape in time. Seems the visa quotas for Somalia are full for the next century or so. She needed help filling out some of the mountains of immigration paperwork. I kinda thought that was an issue a tad more important than swapping our latest round of whatevers. This reality check helped me decide that I really do have bigger fish to fry than this petty, pathetic, bickering banter.
Others in my “camp” believe bigotry deniers are just about one step under Holocaust deniers. WOT to “belabor” that issue one more second with you. Not bigoted against conservatives, but I will concede another point to you. I am bigoted against bigots. Not terribly fond of plagiarists either. Faxed a suicide note to the mortgage company and another one to her family members, telling them to use the insurance money to pay off the mortgage. Must have been too distraught to realize they wouldn’t pay a dime for suicide. including mid range transcription business who operate as S corporations, the entire income from their business is in that bracket and taxed as personal income. It is going to hit small businesses extremely hard. And I don't think it is fair that they have to pick up the tab to pay for tax CUTS for people who are already in the lowest bracket. I don't think that's right, I don't think that is fair, and it will result in businesses closing or laying off workers. So tell me what pray tell does that accomplish?
A government that taxes businesses into the ground...
is a main cause of offshoring. It costs more in taxes to do business in America than any other country in the world save one. And Obama wants to tax them even more, even the small business owners of the S corporation type. In order to fund a cut in tax for the people already in the lowest bracket who pay the lowest amount anyway. Thereby causing more small businesses to fail or cut back on staffing...causing more job loss instead of job creation. Sorry...that makes no sense to me.

Are you not aware how old this smear campaign is and how ineffective it has been thus far? Though it seems like a couple of lifetimes ago, I do recall it being around at least as far back as February. It was kept alive all the way up until Obama successfully clenched the nomination of his party despite the Hannity cult's diligence to make it stick. It finally faded out after their original mission had failed miserably and he emerged from the primaries on top. You can post this stupidity until the end of time but it isn't going to accomplish anything except to make you look like the ignorant, out of touch bigot that you are, marginalize the fringe that subscribes to these beliefs and make your own party look like fools.
I am a WASP American who has many more Moslem friends than Christians for reasons that would be a waste of time to explain to someone with such a narrow, tiny brain. My relationship to that community spans more than 5 decades and my life has been enriched tenfold because of it. I have traveled there, lived amongst them, married into a Moslem family, born Christian children from that union and buried a few along the way. I speak 2 of their languages, have read the Quran, their literature and appreciated their extensive historical contributions to the arts, music and the sciences.
I have lost count of how many of them I have known. I can tell you they are an intelligent, educated and spiritual people. They have family values every bit as strong as Americans and an even stronger sense of community. They take pride in humility and honor. In all those many years, never ONCE have I known a terrorist among them. I know they are out there and I know that unfortunately the politicized version of Islam is every bit as ugly as the politicized version of Chritianity.
It makes no difference whether Obama is a Christian with Moslem ties or a Moslem who has converted (which he is not). As a matter of fact, I have also known many Moslems who have converted, but Obama is not one of them. He is a remarkable human being and this country is blessed to have him as a choice for leadership in this election. What I can tell you is that the ugly, bigoted sentiments expressed here are universally repulsive to all people of faith. Today, you have made me feel ashamed to call myself a Christian.

There is no Air America scandal and certainly nothing you can(reasonably, although we know you don't take that seriously)blame Rachel Maddow for. Air America's former CEO made some bad decisions (gee, that never happens does it?) because he had connections with the charity in question and the fledgling AA was in trouble. However, that was HIS mistake and he is no longer at AA (yes, some people actually get rid of poor performers, unlike our WH). AA didn't do anything wrong and there are no charges against them because there's nothing to prosecute. DESPITE that they have acknowledged that they feel badly about the entire affair and have offered to repay the money even though they are not obligated to do so. I'd say that's far from scandalous - and very much unlike anything you'd see a NeoCon do - they don't pay back ANYBODY even when it IS their fault. Why, here you have the Republican governor of Kentucky under investigation and he declares he's going to use the power of the office to PARDON HIMSELF. Nice schtick if you can get it, huh.

raise their taxes. He wants taxes raised on large corporations who are making record profits, paying their executives millions in salaries and perks per year. Also you will find that most companies offshore to countries where they pay pennies on the dollar to workers rather than pay Americans a living wage. These countries are happy not to charge them high taxes because those few pennies feed their people.

I was so afraid I was going to get slammed/bashed for that one (the day is still early though HA HA). I find it is true though. My MIL - she is a true dem all the way. When DH points something wrong on their side she will deny, deny, deny, but in an instant will talk about some rumor or false thing she heard about the pubs. When talking to her (which I don't anymore about politics) but the only think I can think of is that line from the Harry Potter movie that Harry Potter said to Ron Weezely "that's totally mental". HA HA But talk about wanting to pull your hair out. Too frustrating. After last nights convention I am so psyched to listen tonight.

I have worked in retail as an assistant buyer and see their profit margins...and I know there are many legit, honest, mom and pop stores, but they usually make up for it by hiring school kids for slave wages and also family members. I am talking about across the board, in factories, retail, hospitalitiy, techno, every sector, these workers would all be paying more EACH WEEK into the the tax stucture in this country, strengtheing our reserves, becomeing consumers themselves because they can finally afford something....I feel like I dropped from another planet here, or industry in MT is not the norm by far.
