the daughter told her mother to accept the nomination, and really meant it, knowing full well what it would mean for her in terms of publicity.
Maybe she did not want to have her mother turn down the nomination because of her???? Maybe she did not want to feel guilty that her mother said no because of her??
She (the daughter)was going to be in the spotlight anyway with her mother being governor, at least in the Alaska media.
Maybe, just maybe, the daughter DOES know she has the support of her family, and CAN handle it?
The stignma of the 50s-60s, etc. of an unwed, unmarried teenage mother is so GONE. Heck, they even have a special school for unwed mothers with daycare these days.
I'm not condoning it, not by any means. It just amazes me that there are so many judgmental people on here who think that SP should not have accepted the nomination for this reason alone.
Again, JMHO.
