Obama would not pick as his Chief of Staff a man who wasn't eye-to-eye on the majority of issues. It's basically the president's wing man. No one's going to buy the notion that Obama picked Emanuel as a counterbalance to his own ideas. He picked him because they share common beliefs, which some of us find a little frightening (like mandatory military-style training and/or service).
Ah, but Obama's cover....
...is that things are SO MUCH WORSE than he was lead to believe during the campaign. Much was concealed from him. He inherited such a big mess and he had absolutely no idea how much work there would be. And when his policies fail, as they are destined to do, he will have made a ruin of our entire way of life and can still blame the whole thing on Bush. It's a no-lose situation for Obama.
The Obama campaign became almost a cult experience. People wailing and crying and fainting. The promise of free stuff: *If I help him, he'll help me. I won't have to worry about filling my gas tank and paying my mortgage.* This is exactly what got Obama elected. Smooth, slick, TelePrompTer dependent without appearing to be, well packaged and carefully managed, lots of emotional appeal. Those who voted for him bought sizzle. The sizzle is starting to fizzle, and there will never be a steak.

But, I suspect you would neither understand nor APPROVE of anything you deem "frivolous." The Dow has been up for 4 days running, at least 3 major banks are seeing profits and are stating they no longer require any bailout money.........Bringing in Congress and various insiders for a weekly get-together is a good way to inspire and promote goodwill.....but I guess the WH is something to look at - not live in.

This should go in the National Enquire, Star or something. Sure he's in good physical shape, but whether you think he is nice looking or not is all a matter of opinion. My MIL thought Bill Clinton was "the bees knees" saying "I wouldn't kick him out of my bed, or he can park his shoes under my bed. I felt like throwing up every time I saw him. But, pics of shirtless leaders should should stay in the tabloids. he is supposed to be a leader. This goes to show more and more that he is not. As someone said he's acting like a "Hollywood wannabe". This is not the actions of someone who is supposed to be a stateman, the leader of a country. If you're going to put the pic of a country's leader on the front cover of a magazine they should be properly attired. Could be one of the reasons why most don't refer to him as President Obama, but rather as Mr. Obama.

And, I do not think that being President of the United States means you cannot go to the beach anymore or have a vacation with your family without covering yourself and if someone wants to take a picture of him in that way, then what can he do?

They just want to change laws to somehow prove they are legitimate, as if the fact they are human doesn't make them a legitimate human being already? First, this is not an attempt to attack or belittle Obama...
but he said before he went that it was not a "political" trip, because that would be "inappropriate." Yet his campaign people put political posters up at the Western Wall in Jerusalem. Of course it was political. Can't we just be honest about things? On both sides.
And to be fair...the American media as a whole wouldn't cover McCain right now unless he keeled over and died...and THAT is sad. I am not a big McCain fan, but the bias is astounding.
And as far as the dairy aisle in a grocery store...at least he is talking to Americans. They ARE, after all, running for Presiden of the United States...not President of Europe. Just an observation.
Last but not least...it is concerning to me that Obama was going to visit Landstuhl and wounded troops...and at last minute canceled because it would be "inappropriate." I don't get that, to be honest. It is appropriate to talk to the German people in a political speech, but not to visit wounded American troops...when is it ever inappropriate to visit wounded American troops? I honestly don't get that one.

Obama is not the only one front and center that people are excited about...and if these folks think the PUMA folks are going to fall into line because the DNC tells them to....they have another think coming. Next, her family is with her. Sorry guess you don't consider her husband (the father of this child) to be somebody important enough to be with them.
This is not political ambition for her. She wasn't out there going at it day after day after day like Barack, Hillary, Biden & McCain. Her name was one of many that they were looking at. It was a job interview just like other jobs (just a bit more prestigious). I guess then if you go apply for a job you better think about it if you have kids before you put your ambitions before them.
Lastly and most importantly by doing this she IS putting the needs of her child first. As VP she will be able to make the decisions and vote on the issues that will make the country a better place for her children (all of them - not just her special needs child). That to me is putting her children way before herself.

the human instinct of survival. They've been sold up the river 9 ways to Sunday over the past 6 decades in those so-called peace initiatives, lied to continuously by Israel and western peace brokers, occupied, controlled, invaded, their country shrunken and cut to shreds, starved, held hostage, demonized and dehumanized by their hostile, blood-thirsty captors. THAT is pathetic. You know how the saying goes. Desperate times call for desperate measures. This is actually an old e-mail. It first came out not long after the election. So, here's my question. Does this refer to the millions of jobs lost during the previous administration or just those within the last 60+ days? Less than that if you count when the e-mail actually came out.
If you're going to go back and point fingers, at least point them in the right direction -- that would be towards the guy who not only lost jobs (and did nothing about it) but lives as well in a war that was completely unnecessary that did absolutely nothing but cost lives and run up the deficit. (Interesting that Bush didn't bother to put the cost of the wars on the balance sheet, by the way.)
