As my daughter (college student) puts it, Obama was 'a fashion statement.' It was a pop culture thing. Like buying Vans shoes or an iPhone.
Most of her friends who voted for Obama still don't know who they just elected as VP, or any of Obama's stances on key issues.
Ask them why they voted Obama and they croak, "Change." Yet, asked what 'change' they wanted, they don't know. Basically, they just parrot back what they've heard on TV, which was overwhelmingly in the tank for Obama.
ALL of the people my daughter talked to have seen the SNL skit with Tina Fey "doing" Sarah Palin. And only 1 in 20 had actually seen footage of the real Sarah Palin.
It's the MTV Generation, and apparently they're idiots.
