If Muslims are so against the Taliban or radical Islam, why haven't those in this country spoken up loud and clear again it? What are they afraid of?

buried in mass graves, but if it happened...equally as evil. No one person should have the say over the life of another. Murder them in the womb, but if they live to be 6 months old and the mother gets tired of them and drowns them...she goes on trial for murder. What a difference 6 months makes.

Obama is prochoice - that means each person has the right to decide for themselves. You all amaze me when you say you want the government out of your life and to quit telling you what you have to do, but then it is okay for the government to tell the other person that they can't do something they want to because it does not go along with your belief system.
I would never ever have an abortion. I think it is wrong. However, I think that each person should have the right to decide for themselves if they do it or not. In this case I agree, government stay out of my business!

WINGNUT JOHN HINDERAKER SMEARS DEAD SOLDIER'S UNCLE. A couple of minutes ago I came across this Associated Press story saying that the uncle of Kristian Menchaca -- one of the U.S. soldiers who was missing and is now said to be dead -- criticized the United States for Menchaca's disappearance and death. My first thought was to do a post asking how long it would take before the wingnuts started smearing the grief-stricken uncle.
Alas, I'm too late. Over at Powerline Blog, John Hinderaker has already cranked up the slime machine and let fly:
In a sick coda, Menchaca's uncle, Ken MacKenzie, appeared on the Today show and recited weirdly inapplicable Democratic Party talking points in relation to his own nephew's death...No shame.
I've asked this before, but what is it about the relatives of people killed by terrorists that these wingnuts hate so much? Recall that Ann Coulter smeared the widows of 9/11 victims and that many righty bloggers smeared the father of Nick Berg, who was beheaded in Iraq. Their sin, of course, was that they criticized America and George Bush.
Let me put this as clearly as I can: To the likes of Hinderaker, the pain of those who lost loved ones to this war only matters to the extent that the bereaved allow their grief to be used to prop up the war effort and Bush himself. If the bereaved relatives don't allow their grief to be used in this fashion, their sacrifice and loss no longer matter a whit -- they're not to be pitied or empathized with, but scorned and humiliated as brutally as possible. Despicable.

When did Lindsey Graham suddenly become liberal? I believe he was a former JAG and is totally against Bush's torture techniques and military tribunals.
And when GENERAL Colin Powell says something, I put much more credence in what he has to say than in a bumbling authoritarian idiot who never had the guts to set one foot on foreign soil to serve his country.
Bush talks about the professionals, yet he refuses to listen to any of them. And the faithful Bush disciples don't even care that the torture Bush wants will come back on OUR troops, the same troops they claim to support so much, leaving them susceptible to the very same treatment.
Have you noticed how many Republicans are starting to stand up and do the right thing? And have you noticed how angry Bush is becoming in press conferences and interviews? (I thought the was going to hit Matt Lauer the other day.)
Bush's temper is definitely about to explode, and he doesn't look like a very stable person. Elections are less than 2 months away, and if the Republicans lose control, Bush is finally going to have to be accountable to the country. He's getting angrier and I think he's beginning to panic.

and hope he has a safe and enjoyable career (?). Not sure if you'd call it a career. I loved my time in the military and learned responsibility, valuable lessons, leadership and respect for others. It was a wonderful time of my life. Met my best friend the first night we were sleeping in the chapel at Ft. Jackson waiting for beds to open up in our basic training unit and we remain as close today as we were when we were together (she now lives in another state). 2 years ago her son joined the Army and he also graduated basic training at Ft. Jackson.
So my best wishes for a healthy and good life for your son.

When I lived up north I used to listen to the canadian news. Boy talk about getting a different perspective of what Canada thinks of us (and not just political - they are not too fond of us in general). I think film clips are the best way to find out what's going on. I'd rather listen to what Obama has to say rather than listening to Obama and then having someone interpret what he said to me. HA HA HA. (same for any person. I just hate when I watch a video clip and then the news reporters say "What so-n-so was talking about was...." :-) I usually end up yelling at the TV, I do have a mind of my own ya know.

How are Americans going
if they keep being divided and separated? Liberals need to talk to conservatives, libertarians to progressives, etc. Without the exchange, liberals are just going to sit around saying "Bush is bad, this and this were lies" and conservatives "We love Bush, liberals are bad." Ho hum.
Exchange, debate, and yes even arguing are the very spirit of America in a political forum. Good debate makes you keep your facts straight and forces you to really define your beliefs to yourself as well as others. Information for good or bad is exchanged - people learn things they won't learn otherwise from just a bunch of nodding heads.
