I see what is really going on here. For weeks I heard Obama won't tax us, he's gonna save the middle class, yaddda, yadda, yadda, and you call all facts lies. Now, I'm so sorry you think the actual bill on capital hill which he helped propose is a lie, which means you think he is a lie, but his vote is there.
Get off your lame brain duff and googgle it, if you dare!
In your response, what I see if someone who truly does not care about this country at all but chooses to believe you are going to get a bigger free ride. If you think his taxation attempt on YOU, the poor middle class or whatever, is going to get a tax cut, I dare you to look it up for yourself. I know you won't....you don't want to see the truth about this man.

why progressive taxation?
Two answers:
1. Because it's good for the economy. Money doesn't exist to stagnate in pools; it has to move.
2. Because it's the moral thing to do. If you have for example a flat 10% income tax, a millionaire will flinch, but a poor man will starve.
progressive taxation
See, DNH, the thing I'm getting at is, it already *is* my money. My money, your money, it's being taken already, and given to people who don't work, billionaires who have not a worry in the world.
Your example of a 25% tax rate is even better than mine. That guy making 60,000, he's making 45,000 after taxes. Well and good--it was a big bite of his income, but he can still afford his house and to feed his kids. But what about the guy making 30,000? Suddenly he's making 22,500 a year, and how's he going to pay his heating bill this winter? He can't afford food, he can't make rent.
So what looks initially like equal treatment, is actually something far different: A neglible weight on the wealthy, a noticeable burden on the middle class, and a death sentence on the lower class.
The incentive argument doesn't work, either. During the height of taxation in the 50s, the economy grew at a healthy rate, and it grew by making things, building things, actual goods and services, not the fake growth we've seen in the recent low-tax decades, where all the wealth is made up of obscure financial instruments that nobody understands.
People don't give up their dreams because they fear a high tax rate. They give up their dreams because suddenly they can't afford food anymore, and they're going to get thrown out of their houses, and their kids are going to be dressed in rags, because every dime they worked so hard for is being redistributed right on up into the hands of billionaires.
What if it were my money? I'd rather every dime I had go to the poor, than yet another penny wind up in somebody's else's hedge fund.
His lies changes everyday but his taxation

Why is fairness in taxation considered a handout? This isn't welfare... it's paying the right

MARCH 28
I was born on March 28, 1948. I am sure people would "That figures." That was Easter Sunday. Easter has never come on March 28 since then. guess that kind of makes us special Easter bunnies, huh.
Not all vets march in ...
lock step any more than any of us do. My Vietnamese veteran friends see things differently and this should come as no surprise to you. I still do not know what it was we were trying to **win.** Whatever it was, it was not worth the toll it took and is still taking on us. We are still divided by that war (excuse me, conflict) in Viet Nam. Enlighten me please, what were we **not allowed to win.**

We will be married 2 years in March
I was 20, he was 23. Got engaged and waited a year before we married. Best decision ever :)

We the people march on Washington, DC
I found and joined resistnet.com because I love my country. It is a very sad, sad day to see it marching towards marxism/socialism, which has failed in every country it has been tried.
Do you love this country? Does the blood shed for our freedoms still matter to you? If so, then please take a moment and join the "We the People" March on Washington DC. This group is a grassroots planning and organizing effort to put on a peaceful demonstration on May 30, 2009. We are looking for conservatives to join us and assist us in preserving our Consitution and holding our elected officials accountable to the oath of office they have sworn to. We need you to join us and get involved on the State level marches that will also be held across the country. Every state is participating!
Don't you think it's time we fire any elected official who doesn't uphold, protect, and preserve our 'We the People's" Constitution?
Please join us and invite your friends and families also.

Tea parties vs the million man march
All this controversy over the number in attendance af last week's tea parties, and who was there! I would think over a quarter-million participants would rank right up there as far as demonstration statistics go.
There was another demonstration in 1995 which planned to attact a million demonstators. Wikipedia has this:
......... Finally, within the first twenty-four hours following the March a conflict between March organizers and Park Service officials erupted over crowd size estimates. Initially, the National Park Service issued an estimate of about 400,000 attendees; a number significantly lower than March organizers had hoped for. After a heated exchange between leaders of the March and Park Services the estimate was raised to 850,000* but still fell short of the organizers’ estimate of over 1 million. The controversy over the number of men who actually participated in the March has yet to be firmly resolved. *[guess they were getting the 2 for 1 special?]
Even back then, folks were hollering 'recount,' I don't recall seeing any female or white faces in that crowd, either. I think that was pretty sexist and racist. The point is, you hang with like-minded individuals. Nobody put out the 'whites only' sign at the tea parties. It was equal opportunity, and if you were a hard-working black business owner you might have been there.
Wash. Post and the Freedom March
'Wash Post' Will Drop Sponsorship Of 'Freedom' March If It Turns Political Editor & Publisher Published: August 12, 2005 3:30 PM ET "NEW YORK The Washington Post has no plans to withdraw its co-sponsorship of a controversial Sept. 11 memorial walk being organized by the Department of Defense, according to Publisher Bo Jones. But, he said the paper would pull out if the event turns out to be some kind of pro-war or political march." Post Executive Editor Leonard Downie, Jr. declined to comment on the paper's involvement, other than to say, "it does not affect our coverage." "But Rick Weiss, a Post science reporter and co-chair of the Washington Post unit of the Washington-Baltimore Newspaper Guild, noted the hypocrisy of the paper's involvement, since it bars reporters from participating in partisan events. "It is dismaying, to say the least, that I can be fired for participating in a peace march while my employer feels free to co-sponsor an event that so blatantly beats the drum of war," Weiss stated." more... http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/news/article_di...
Iraqis march for secular state...
See link for entire article.
Meanwhile, Tuesday, Officials said insurgents were trying to deepen the political turmoil surrounding the contested vote. Preliminary figures have given a big lead to the religious Shiite bloc that controls the current interim government.
The new violence came as three opposition groups threatened a wave of protests and civil disobedience if fraud charges are not properly investigated. The warning came from the secular Iraqi National List, headed by former Shiite Prime Minister Ayad Allawi, and two Sunni Arab groups.
More than 10,000 people, some carrying photos of Allawi, demonstrated Tuesday in favor of a government that would give more power to Sunni Arabs and secular Shiites. Marches chanted No Sunnis, no Shiites, yes for national unity.
We're protesting to reject the elections fraud. We want to ask the government and the elections commission: 'Where did our votes go? Who stole them?' said Abdul Hamid Abdul Razzaq, a 45-year-old barber who attended the massive protest.
A similar protest in Baqouba ended with arrests. Police rounded up several people — most of them high school students — and took them into custody, Donelan reports.
Iraq's Electoral Commission said Monday that final results for the 275-seat parliament could be released in about a week.
Sunni Arab and secular Shiite factions are demanding that an international body review more than 1,500 complaints, warning they may boycott the new legislature. They also want new elections in some provinces, including Baghdad. The United Nations has rejected an outside review.
We will resort to peaceful options, including protests, civil disobedience and a boycott of the political process until our demands are met, said Hassan Zaidan al-Lahaibi of the Sunni-dominated Iraqi Front for National Dialogue. He spoke in neighboring Jordan, where representatives of the groups have met in recent days.
The election commission considers 35 of the complaints serious enough to change some local results. But Farid Ayar, a commission official, said there was no reason to cancel the entire election.
He also said preliminary results from early votes by soldiers, hospital patients, prisoners and overseas Iraqis showed a coalition of Kurdish parties and the main Shiite religious bloc each taking about a third. Those nearly 500,000 votes were not expected to alter overall results significantly.
Preliminary results previously released gave the United Iraqi Alliance, the religious Shiite coalition dominating the current government, a big lead — but one unlikely to allow it to govern without forming a coalition with other groups.
Alliance leader Abdul Aziz al-Hakim traveled to the northern Kurdish city of Irbil on Tuesday to discuss the formation of a governing coalition with Jalal Talabani, Iraq's Kurdish president, and Massoud Barzani, president of the Kurdish region.
Al-Hakim's secretary Haitham al-Husseini said there would also be negotiations with Sunni Arabs. Al-Husseini said the Alliance has proposed distributing the top six Cabinet positions, the three-member presidency council and top three parliament slots among the political blocs.

Sure looks great for 8 months along!
Another 750,000 jobs lost in March. Wait, I exaggerate. It was 742,000.
Whew! For a minute there, I thought we hit three-quarters of a million jobs lost. By the way - the unemployment numbers only reflect people out of work and seeking employment. They don't reflect the number who have given up the search. And they won't reflect the kids looking for work this summer and not finding it.
desperate attempt
to snag the unhappy Hilliary supporters. They predicted this last night -- if McCain felt desperate after watching the Dem convention, he would pick a wild card candidate. If he felt safe, he would go with Romney. Tthanks for showing your cards, Mac. Hill's people are progressive, they won't vote for a ticket that is against women's rights just because one is a woman.
My guess is that this is an attempt....(sm)
to actually help the country. It's called putting pressure on the current president who is just happily sitting on his behind and doing nothing to stop or slow down this economic masacre we have going on right now. I can't wait to see the total job loss by the end of the week.
It becomes my business when they attempt to
Laws affect everyone. They don't want "rights"...they have rights. They just want to change laws to somehow prove they are legitimate, as if the fact they are human doesn't make them a legitimate human being already? I have every right to make it my business when they want to change the laws to suit their lifestyle.
I read all this and will attempt to verify...
but somehow the "She has hated me since 1996" comment makes me a little doubtful....if you wanted to be taken seriously, why would you include that? It makes it sound like payback.
At any rate, I have read, and will be looking into the accusations. Thanks for posting!
To clarify your misguided attempt
I am not a republican, I do not care for Hannity, and I don't particularly care for McCain either. As far as Obama, I know a skunk when I smell one.....
Sorry to pop your bubble.
Fox makes an attempt to be balance
but that's just one network vs. the many left-leaning rest of the major media.
How is that balanced? NEWS should be FAIR and BALANCED, not a thrill up your leg. Now THAT's disgusting.
FOX makes no attempt to be balanced, they just SAY that
It's so obvious, my goodness.
You're right. I wouldn't attempt to reason this through with anyone...nm
x
First, this is not an attempt to attack or belittle Obama...
but he said before he went that it was not a "political" trip, because that would be "inappropriate." Yet his campaign people put political posters up at the Western Wall in Jerusalem. Of course it was political. Can't we just be honest about things? On both sides.
And to be fair...the American media as a whole wouldn't cover McCain right now unless he keeled over and died...and THAT is sad. I am not a big McCain fan, but the bias is astounding.
And as far as the dairy aisle in a grocery store...at least he is talking to Americans. They ARE, after all, running for Presiden of the United States...not President of Europe. Just an observation.
Last but not least...it is concerning to me that Obama was going to visit Landstuhl and wounded troops...and at last minute canceled because it would be "inappropriate." I don't get that, to be honest. It is appropriate to talk to the German people in a political speech, but not to visit wounded American troops...when is it ever inappropriate to visit wounded American troops? I honestly don't get that one.
Obviously I am not an Obama fan either. Going to be one of those lesser of two evils years for me. :-)
What you are seeing below is a weak attempt at damage control 101...
That announcement sucked all the air out of the big speech, everyone is talking about Sarah Palin, not Barack Obama. And the best they can do is take potshots at Alaska and that she was in a beauty pageant...and oh I thought the rampaging moose thing was REALLLYYYYY funneeeee. Obama is not the only one front and center that people are excited about...and if these folks think the PUMA folks are going to fall into line because the DNC tells them to....they have another think coming. Just my opinion of course....
Another excuse of a lie - but it wasn't even a good attempt at one
No politician's child has ever been "hauled around and raised by a succession of nannies". You've been watching too many movies. Maybe in the past (like the 1800s) a child has had a nanny with them but not a succession of them. Had to laugh at that one.
Next, her family is with her. Sorry guess you don't consider her husband (the father of this child) to be somebody important enough to be with them.
This is not political ambition for her. She wasn't out there going at it day after day after day like Barack, Hillary, Biden & McCain. Her name was one of many that they were looking at. It was a job interview just like other jobs (just a bit more prestigious). I guess then if you go apply for a job you better think about it if you have kids before you put your ambitions before them.
Lastly and most importantly by doing this she IS putting the needs of her child first. As VP she will be able to make the decisions and vote on the issues that will make the country a better place for her children (all of them - not just her special needs child). That to me is putting her children way before herself.
your attempt at a funny retort is in fact
nm
No, I didnt misstype....attempt at irony. lol. nm

Your pathetic attempt to try to cover up the fact...(sm)
that there is no basis for the comment above (that being that Obama is taking rights away) by trying to distract the conversation by attacking me personally does nothing but show the absolute absurdity of the republican party's talking points.
Lots of hidden references in that little attempt....sm
at comedy, at which he miserably failed. How wonderful does he think he is? And arrogant: I think they need to put a new page in the dictionary with his picture on it for arrogance! If he would get trying to get attention for himself and concentrate more on those JOBS HE PROMISED, I'm sure the country will be more appreciative and sure as heck a lot better off!
I don't see how a conservative, prolifer could attempt to defend his statements...nm

Another lame attempt to try to not get people to read the article
Your computer got a virus, yeah right!!!!
You don't like that I'm not drooling all over the O like you are then fine, but to come out and say that articles that are not praising your god gives your computer a virus is a bunch horse hockey.
Sheesh, I would have expected a better excuse than that.
P.S. - Am anxious to hear the supreme courts ruling. They are meeting on the 5th. Although I know that all the O worshippers will try and cut it down for some insane reason. The SC's ruling will determine it. Let's just wait and see.
Despite your attempt at spin - Afghan and Iraq are 2 different wars.....nm

Cheney? All whatt he is saying now is just a lame attempt to justify all the
evil he did during this 8 years.
At least Bush keeps silent. I think Cheney was worse than Bush.
I bet Cheney has nightmares.
No wonder that he is so concerned with the security of this country, he is afraid somebody might 'get' him.
time for the lefties to pile on and yuk it with your poor attempt at humor.nm
I just don't have the energy to fight anymore, I guess. This was lame attempt!
I need to work anyway.

There are statistics too numerous to count to draw from. Poverty in this country seems to be a well-documented and studied statistic. The same goes for worldwide standard of living statistics.
Wikipedia is only as good as its sources which generally are provided and in this sense it is no different than any information source. That's my feeling, anyway.
Sorry but I can google as well as you.
Big Hillary backer, raised $100,000 for her, married to a rich guy, lives in New York and London. blah, blah, blah. I don't base my vote on who is endorsing who. I have a mind of my own. Babs raised $9 million for Obama in a night. She must be pretty powerful too!
