You always forget the phrase *under oath*, which is what lost him his law license sm

and the respect of the Supreme Court Justices who for the first time in history, did not attend the State of the Union address of a sitting president. But I guess all that is okay, too.

You lost me at Dems coined the phrase
If you didn't realize that the expression voodoo economics wasn't coined by Dems, then it makes me wonder how many other things you just don't realize this administration, the previous administration, or politics in general.
The phrase voodoo economics was coined by George H.W. Bush in a debate with Ronald Reagan. The phrase trickle-down economics is not a good thing, as you might have it sound. It's a derogatory phrase that was first used by Republicans as a criticism regarding a dam project John F. Kennedy had planned. He actually was the one who initiated this theory that when the GDP grows, the incomes of all American's will grow. He coined the phrase "a rising tide lifts all boats" when referring to this economic theory, and it was the GOP that countered saying it was trickle-down economics.
If you can't get that right, it makes me wonder how you can judge what is right or wrong with what this administration or the last administration does or has done.
he used a phrase - the same phrase that McCain used several times against Hillary - nm

You have to have special license from the state....
and it is done specifically to reduce the predator population where moose and caribou populations are in danger from too many predators in the area. It is not done for sport. It is done all over our western United States to reduce predator populations.
People don't want oil drilling to disturb the caribou, but don't mind large wolf populations taking them out? As far as hard to watch videos, have you ever seen a wolf pack attack a carbiou and devour it while it is still kicking? Not pretty.
This aerial hunting practice has been used for years, and while I would not engage in it, sometimes it is necessary to control predator populations. Environmentalists sometimes make a mistake in going overboard to protect predators, then when other species are endangered by the overpopulation, things like this become necessary.
I agree with you. He/she should lose license. nm

Frist expected to be fined for lying on medical license renewal

I only lost $1000 so far-Hubby lost $2000 in a week (sm)
so, I called his financial advisor yesterday and told him to put hubby in a "safe" plan. It's now in a money market fund that is part of his IRA.
I have no choice. I have to stay where I am. I have no "safe" available. Neither of us will be able to retire on what is now in our 401Ks and you're not the only one. We couldn't buy a car with Both our 401Ks, let alone live on it.
We are late starters for retirement not until our late 40s funds (most of our employers did not offer pensions). We are now of the first retirement tier and although we own our home outright, if we live until we are 90, there is no way we can live off retirement 401Ks or SS.
My husband's father told him back in the 50s that we would experience something like what is happening today and stated it would be worse than the ཙ crash. It is sure starting to look that way, but we will survive some way, I hope.
We need to pray for the people on SS now that cannot survive. I, for one, would love to help them, but can't help ourselves at this moment.
Oath
He was nervous folks, wouldn't you be in front of millions? For Pete's sake, he has only been president since noon. Let the man take office and see what he can do. Lots of talk shows, etc., have been griping about him since November. Pretty lousy since he didn't take office until today. No, not one person can solve the world's problems, but let us pray that President Obama at least tries, not like the last 8 years.
Oooh, under OATH
Too bad Clinton didn't do what BUSH does routinely and simply REFUSE to be put under oath (9/11 commission? Have a cozy little chat, did they). Hard to slam anyone for lying under oath when they feel they are so above the law of the land that they aren't subject to taking the oath in the first place - and why should they have to when they've made it perfectly clear that anyone who even THINKS about opposing them is going to suffer - big time.
And haha - we're supposed to believe the SCOTUS is a moral authority on anything? Haha! They dumped their reputations in the toilet on the day they dirtied the Constitution by taking it upon themselves choose the next president rather than allowing the people of the United States to follow due process of law in electing their own president. If you're looking for noble champions of the people whose opinions you can cite to make your case, they aren't it. We all saw what they did, and history will record their shameful and traitorous ruling and will not be kind to them.
By the way, how's that overturning of Roe v. Wade going?:)
The president did an oath do over
with Roberts. I would think he was actually very nervous, which is understandable. Personally, I would have said every name but my own trying to get past I...(state your name). There is a Washington City Paper article about a law professor that states that Condoleeza Rice was actually president for a whole minute before Joe Biden was sworn in because they were running late, then Biden was president for a whole three minutes before Obama was sworn in. So the author states that Condoleeza Rice was actually the first female AND first black president. I don't know how much validity is given to this paper, but it is an interesting article so far. Obama was not the first president to flub the oath and apparently the reason for the do-over is because the constitution states the oath must be said word for word as it is written. The only thing that changes is your name.
http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/blogs/citydesk/2009/01/20/remember-when-biden-was-president/
Lying under oath is just that.
Lying under oath. There are no exceptions to this rule regardless of whether Bill's action on the side was our business or not. If he was so worried about protecting his daughter, he should have kept his pecker in his pants and away from Monica's mouth. He lied under oath...period.
Gonzales not required to take oath??
That just beats all. Why even have him testify if he is not required to tell the truth UNDER OATH? Not too hard to figure out where this is all coming from - reminds one of the way Bush visited with the 9/11 commission but refused to be put under oath.
The question is, and always has been - why is this administration so terrified of telling the truth?
The word is that Rove is threatening to withdraw all Republican funding and support from any Republican senator or representative who fails to fall in line with the administration's ambition of unbridled above-the-law autonomy. If they so much as make a peep about protecting the Constitution rather than dear leader, they're dead in the water. It's kind of pathetic watching them all sweat and stutter and grovel, heh - might even be entertaining if it wasn't such an important issue.
Perjury - lying under oath - How is it that
Bush swearing on the Bible and breaking his oath to the American people is "no big deal." Generalities, don't have all night to type here. Just answering that Clinton lied about sex, but Bush took us into an absolutely unfounded war for no good reason, with no good intelligence, Cheney knew in 1994 what would follow an invasion into Iraq, an absolute disaster of foreign policy, so I cannot give Bush any respect. And I do agree that the Dems who voted to give Bush free reign should not be voted back into office, and for your information, I, for one, will not vote for Hilary for the aforementioned reason. Our country has changed immensely in the last six years with all of this policital strife, the hate that Bush has evoked here and around the world, and the shame he has commanded. My prayer is that he does absolutely nothing for the next year and couple of months. Wish the windshield cowboy would take a long drive back to Crawford.
I see he couldn't even repeat the oath...
of office without it being repeated for him twice. Get the teleprompters ready!
What oath did he break? He swore to uphold the law of...
the United States. He has not broken that. I am not his biggest fan; there are a lot of things he has done that I do not agree with. There are many things he has done that I do agree with. I had a problem with a lot of the things Clinton did, but I did not hate the man. I absolutely do not understand the personal hatred some of you people feel for him. It just seems unreasonable and totally out of whack. Especially since he is gone no matter who is elected. Kinda wasted effort to expand all that energy hating someone.
What if Hillary is the Dem candidate and it is her or a Republican? You will vote for her then, right...? lol
Doctor's take the Hippocrates oath and have to abide...sm
by it or have their license pulled. It may not be illegal but is unethical. It is hard for me to believe a doctor would risk his license by talking about this on tape on the record. Do you have a verifiable source?
Again, doctors take the Hippocratic oath, do no harm etc. nm
.
If a doctor truly believed his hippocratic oath he would not be...
killing babies for ANY reason other than to save the life of the mother.
also, Obama did not flub the oath - the justice did - nm

key phrase
" as far as I am concerned. . . " Remember Britney Spears and Paris Hilton everybody!!!!
So you have no problem that he put his hand on a Bible and lied under oath? nm
You like that phrase it seems. He WAS on vacation. sm
I don't know where you have been but he has been making speeches about the Hurricaine all weekend before it even hit and pledged support, etc. So obviously, he may have been officially on vacation, but he wasn't in any way. Do you watch TV. He's been all over it. Get over your own bad self.
I have never personally used that phrase myself. sm
But then, I am sure someone will expend a huge amount of energy to prove me wrong.
I'm thinking of a phrase...
oh yeah - "When pigs fly."
The second amendment phrase that
gun control supporters always fall back on is ''well regulated militia''. But the militia back then was considered to be all able-bodied males capable of fighting. Also, having had such recent experience with the tyranny of an out-of-control government, our founders wiisely built the right to possess and bear arms into our constitution to make sure our new government did not become too big for its britches.
I believe it was in Justice Scalia's opinion on the Heller case (or maybe in his questioning of the pro-gun-control attorney) that I read something to the effect that in revolutionary war times firearms were necessary to procure food and also to protect ourselves and families from hostile attacks, bears, wolves, and other predators. Nowadays most of us don't have to fight off wild animals anymore; the predators have become.....us.
One phrase cracked me up in your post - sm
"whether you believe in God or not as a liberal" - What? If someone is liberal, they don't believe in GOD?...
I may not believe in the same God as you (or the same concept of God is probably a better way to put it), but I don't believe liberals are any more "godless" than anyone else. I know this is off topic and I don't mean to create a stir by posting it, but it seems so "typically conservative" to make assumptions such as this.
Just google the phrase, JTBB.......sm
There's lots there.
Nothing personal, but I don't feel like being derided by anyone today for my opinions.
In fact, I'm thinking of taking a break from this board, as I doubt I would really be missed, anyway.
Salisbury is the one who first coined this phrase,.
So he probably knows what he is talking about, at least from that liberal viewpoint you are so quick to deride. Michael Savage has a different, more conservative interpretation. Good for him. Now that we have established the fact there are at least two opposing views on the same concept, the logical next step would be to respectfully discuss the pros and cons of each and get beyond the tacit dismissal.
Using the phrase "drinking Kool-Aid"
On November 18, 1978, 909 inhabitants of Jonestown, 276 of them children, died of apparent cyanide poisoning, mostly in and around a pavilion. This resulted in the greatest single loss of American civilian life in a non-natural disaster until the September 11, 2001 attacks. Jones and several members argued that the group should commit "revolutionary suicide" by drinking cyanide-laced grape flavored Flavor Aid (often misidentified as Kool-Aid) along with a sedative.
Out of respect for the nearly 1000 innocent Christians who tragically died in Jonestown, I would like to ask the posters of this forum to find another phrase to use other than "drinking Kool-Aid" to describe a person's political beliefs. It is insulting and disrespectful to the memory of those that died in Jonestown to use this expression so flippantly.
JMHO
Well, at least you have a new catch phrase. Don't wear it out now, ya hear? nm
McCain did say this in the primaries several times - same phrase exactly - nm

Okie dokie. I am just reminded of the old phrase...
be careful what you ask for. But I do have a question...Obama has said forcefully that if he ends Iraq the war will go on in Afghanistan...so you are still going to have a war. Where the war is makes the difference? We are still going to be spending billions. The fact that it will be in Afghanistan and not Iraq makes the difference?
We are getting ready to spend billions bailing out the mess that Democrats created. No, Republicans have actually been bringing this mess up, screaming warnings about it, and the only thing this Democratic congress has done was pass a housing bill this time that further encouraged giving out those bad loans. Republicans were against it, but the Dems have the majority. Soooo...here we are. I do blame one Republican, George Bush, for signing it. He should have vetoed it.
How you can ignore something that huge and trust the fox to run the chicken house...I will be the first to say...I certainly do not understand it. But your vote is YOURS, and you should use it however you wish to.
A phrase rings in my ears too...Can't see the forest...
for the trees. And they can't.
The operative phrase "due to no fault of their own"
and then there's the millions of others that are just LAZY
I have no problem helping the disabled or even someone that lost their job and has some hard times...
My problem is those that choose not to better themselves BECAUSE of these handouts.
Dont tell me I deserve to work my ASS OFF to pay for these people to live.
I have a huge heart, and I don't make much money even after working hard, and I choose to give it to the charities of my choice, which is the way it should be, not TAKEN from me to give to people that DONT want to better themselves.
We were, you changed it to Bush hatred, another bin Coulter phrase.nm

That "my friends" phrase, so oft-repeated, made him
Nobody called SP a pig. Phrase means JM can call change "change,"
You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. JM can call change "change," but he is still 4 more years of W. SP is the one who is running on the lipstick platform. That's why her supporters are trying to accuse O of calling her a pig.
Yes, AJ, don't forget the
**liberal media**. When all else fails, just blame them. I wonder how long before they start attacking Fitzgerald.
I will never forget what he said.
He conned me, just like he conned those in Congress who voted for the war against Iraq. I believed him when he said Iraq was involved with 9/11, and I wholeheartedly supported his war against Iraq for the reasons he gave.
But he didn't lie about his personal sex life, so his lies don't count to some people.
But don't forget -
Bush no longer cares about Bin Laden (and obviously Al Qaeda and the Taliban).
Also don't forget that Bush's reckless failure to nail 150 Taliban members is really Clinton's fault.
Don't forget
Reagan and G.W. Bush also have been accused of rape. Check it out. Please don't say that the Democrats have cornered the market on this. Even Eisenhower had a mistress.
Let's not forget...
:}
yea, and don't forget

Don't forget
the one I just used before reading your post..."airhead." LOL.
Lest we forget...
This is for those with poor memories:
http://www.bercasio.com/movies/dems-wmd-before-iraq.wmv
But let us not forget
Harry Reid, who said "The War Is Lost." How totally irresponsible, not to mention a total disgrace to our troops. I have such respect for their selflessness. I'm literally in awe of them. I get that lump in the throat thing when I see them. We owe them SO much!
Also, don't forget
his famous "signing statements," like when he signed the law against torture and then quietly came back later and basically added that he doesn't have to obey that law if he doesn't want to.
http://www.democracynow.org/2006/3/27/bush_signs_statements_to_bypass_torture
I also find it astonishing that some people really believe that Democrats run Congress. The House may have a Democratic majority, but the Republicans still have the majority in the Senate. The Senate needs 60 Democrats in order to avoid a Republican fillibuster, and to my knowledge, they still don't have that number, even though they picked up a few seats in this year's election, so the Republicans can still continue to control the "do-nothing Congress."
(I hope this post makes sense. Not feeling well and need to take meds and go to bed. )
As always, let's just forget anything that
for Obama and move on to other issues, such as how we never gave President Bush a chance to succeed, we never showed showed him an ounce of respect but we demand it for Obama, yada, yada, yada....whatever. Just be sure and ignore anything about Obama that is a little iffy, shove it under the rug and bow down. But, of course, there is no bias here.
lest you all forget.....sm
The electoral vote has not yet taken place and will not taken place until ---shoot, no calendar so I may be off on the date, but I believe it is December 10th. Not that I would want to actually see a change to the outcome of the election because I can't even begin to imagine the chaos that would ensue, but nothing is yet concrete. Don't come blasting at me; I am not expressing an opinion, simply stating a fact.
How soon we forget about
Or whatever name the woman was dubbed for going on TV and shouting that after he's in office her..."mortgage will be paid...gas in her car...bills paid...yada, yada, yada"...how soon we forget about that huh?
I am saddened that most people cannot see past the fact that Obama is a black man, period. To some, that's all the qualification he needs. He may very well be the perfect man for the job, be he black or white, or whatever, but I'm afraid he'll never be given the chance to prove that because so many are just fixated on the fact that he's black...so sad.
I do have to add that I did not vote for Obama, not because he's black, but because I disagree with his views. Even my 10 YO son said today that it doesn't matter what color his skin is, it matters what kind of a man he is, and he is so right. Obama is much more than that, but most just can't see past his ethnicity and that's so sad and surely not what he (or MLK) would have wanted.
Don't forget
The 200 million for grass on the national mall. I'm not a repub and this angers me.
Oh, how could I forget?
Acorn.
