Yes, something does need to be done

But in the meantime, if all US children getting healthcare means some illegal immigrants sneak onto the plan too, then so be it.  I don't care at this point.   They are getting plenty of things free, and I would think most immigrants are getting healthcare somehow or another anyway since most are low income.  I want the middle-income families (like myself) to have more affordable health care right now.  They need health care RIGHT NOW.

I think the immigration thing is a disaster.  It is an enormous issue with no easy answers.  I honestly don't know what the answer is to it all.  I think Bush wanted to give them amnesty or something, and maybe in a way that would be good because I believe his plan included a way which would make all of them pay taxes, but I honestly don't know enough about the issue.  I can't blame the Mexican people for sneaking up here for a better life for their families, and yet I don't want Americans to have a worse life because of it.  I live in Montana where we don't have a lot of illegals yet, but they are taking some high-paying construction jobs here, and I'm not happy about that.  I do need to learn more abut that issue, but all I know right now is that there are no easy answers to control illegal immigrants.  Lets just make Mexico a part of America, tax all Mexicans and be done with it, because we are going to run out of space here.  Just kidding, but seriously, I agree it is a huge problem, and I don't know what should be done exactly, but if some illegal aliens' children are on the SCHIP healthcare plan that is just one more issue we have to resolve, but it shouldn't stop us from passing the bill imo.  Precious time is wasting and precious children are going without insurance.
