We gave Anbar back to Iraq's control this week, and that is wonderful news. Petraeus is talking about being able to leave Baghdad...and they have never talked about that before. I'm really encouraged. The surge worked, it quelled violence so that the political process could work better, just as it was intended to do...and I am really encouraged.
