adopted by a Kenyan man which makes him a Kenyan by law and because this man was Muslim, he was also Muslim, even though we already knew that because his mother brought him up Muslim. ANyway, he cannot be a citizen of this country after being adopted by this man from Kenya. He then has to go through immigration dept and their entire process to apply for US citizenship, which he has no papers to prove that either.

McCain certainly would not have been my first choice either, but I voted for the candidate that I thought was the better of the two--I actually prefer a more conservative candidate than McCain. I do think that it is a shame that everyone has become so mean. I have tried not to be that way to anyone, although I guess some people see me as "rabid." What can you do? I at least know that I am not a name-caller or a racist, regardless of what others might think. Perhaps it will cool down. At any rate, have a good night!

now? It's been used as a bargaining chip by unions when negotiating a new contract. Just imagine how discontinuing healthcare from employers would help everyone! Vendors could sell their products for less. The insurance obligation would be placed somewhere else, maybe someplace it belongs, and the employees wouldn't have to pay a "co-pay" to their insurers.
Like Obama, I believe that if you like the healthcare you have, then you can keep it.
I've been very ill for 3-1/2 years now, and not only do I NOT qualify for regular health insurance, I also don't qualify for Mediaid. When my social security disability claim comes through, I believe I'm not eligible for Medicare for something like 2-1/2 years after being approved. So that's 2-1/2 YEARS to deny someone who was approved based on ILLNESS! Isn't that kind of crazy?
If the option of an insurance plan that I can afford is "on the table," then I'd snatch it up as quickly as I could, while being perfectly agreeable with you keeping your own policies.

my 401K from a previous employer hasn't lost much
but it's in low risk investments, a lot of bonds, and so when things get better, it probably won't rise as quickly as other 401k's. I'm a chicken.

You know, Minnesota and Wisconsin both prepared for several thousand evacuees and we were more or less turned down due to distance from Louisiana. In my home town a bunch of us offered long-term housing/jobs/resources/transportation for 100 folks but then were told we'd probably have no takers.
What I'm trying to say is that things are not always as portrayed, both by the left and the right and the in-between.
I would also suggest you ponder why the need to be nasty as it really does not advertise your political philosophy very well.

If you knew anyone with a small business and asked them what this would do for their pocketbook they would tell you their business would end up dying. Obama has very cleverly disguised to most who do not pay attentin and do not care that small businesses will NOT be harmed by his little cuts. Well, all the mandated policies that sound so great have to be paid for. Obama's idea of small business means any business bringing in 250K a year. Maybe you think that's a lot of money but it is nothing. That money has to pay for employees, expenses, workmen's comp, huge taxes already, the list goes on and on and many are hanging on by a thread as it is.
These same companies whom he sees to think will do just fine will be out of business. They will be mandated to death. They cannot afford paid medical leave while employing someone else to do their job and then what? If you knew anything about running a business with paid employees/benefits, etc., you would know Obama's plan has put a nail in their coffin.

Schools do not have to teach homosexuality in order to teach children to be kind to one another and not verbally or physically attack another child. There is just a boat load of crap!!
My children were taught you don't call other children names, bully them, or make fun of them in any way and to treat them in the same way they would want to be treated. I didn't have to specifically point out the gay kids or any particular "group".
How absolutely ridiculous is your comment. When I was in school, we absolutely knew there were gay kids and guess what? They hung out with us just like anyone else. There was one kid in theneighborhood who was gay and had the most smart as@ed mouth in the group,put down EVERYONE and everybody, made fun of fat people, people with glasses, people he thought were crazy in the head. Pleeeze!!! lets stop with the poor little gay children ignorant remarks you make. I think, though, we need to abandon the idea of the "trickle down" theory because we had eight years of that, and all it did was make the rich more greedy. We need to regulate (and prosecute) the Wall Street crooks, that's for sure.

don't really care what got us in this mess. Banks and mortgage companies were forced to give subprime loans because the democrats wanted EVERYBODY to have house, whether they could afford it or not, giving everyone the belief they were somehow entitled to a home, money or no money. The law was pushed by the democratic party (for those who bother to read it) and it became law that the banks HAD to make these loans AND the law put in place these institutions making money on these worthless pieces of paper. They were forced to do the business with those who had no business in there in the first place getting a loan. And for those who knew they were living beyond their means and even lying about the income, they should have to bear the burden of their stupidity. I do not feel the least bit responsible for keeping them in their home. We live well below what a bank told us we could afford and we have......better safe than sorry!
For all those that think free handouts somehow will make a better country for us and hitting companies that employ with MORE taxes and treating those who are fortunate enough to be rich as if rich is a bad word and going after their income, do those same people EVER stop to ask themselves who the heck pays their assistance!!! Small businesses are laying off right now DIRECTLY RELATED to Obama being in office. I personally know several small business owners in this town with anywhere from 50 to 200 employees and they are already laying off and anticipating laying off more BECAUSE of Obama's regulations which he is/will IMPOSE on small businesses, while all the while convincing O lovers such as yourself that job loss has absolutely nothing to do with him!
