Yeah, it's ridiculous.
It's as if he hasn't even read what's in it.
The most ridiculous thing about a post like this...
is that people actually think it helps their cause. lol.
I agree with one thing....what she did was ridiculous...
inflammatory and downright stupid. She is supposed to be the leader of the house...and what she did was just plain stupid. According to the Republicans interviewed they voted no because that was what their constituents were wanting them to do in ratio of about 99 to 1. Still, when she was supposed to be a leader in a bipartisan effort, to make that silly speech right before the vote...seriously poor judgment and she is 3 heartbeats away from the Presidency.
Here is 1 thing I found on McCain and outsourcing

that I posted about yesterday.  I am still trying to find some info to support what Sam had said about tax breaks so the companies can come back and hire US workers.  Even though I think that him saying that or thinking that is such a piece.  When you give tax breaks to these companies they are going to keep the tax breaks and continue to use cheaper workers from other companies.  There is no real incentive, or provision to make them, hire US workers.

A quote from the below article from McCain to possibly support that thought:

"I can't tell you these jobs are ever coming back. The old jobs aren't coming back"

Most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

If they proceed with this ridiculous "crimes" thing,
We will see to it that every Democrat who was informed of these operations is named as a co-conspirator. We will also go back and review some elements of operations conducted under Bill Clinton's regime. And, the next time Republicans have the reins, we'll see that Obama is prosecuted for every lie he told in office.

So I say bring it on, Obama. We might as well find out just HOW stupid you are.
Yeah, like I literally say that was the most ridiculous statement.

Good grief...that is ridiculous. I would say the same thing if he was white...
Geez...paranoid much?? LOL.

He IS a millionaire. Why should he spend campaign money to go visit his grandmother when he could afford to take himself?

The POINT was dissing Palin because the campaign bought her some clothes to be used on the campaign, not for personal use, and to be donated afterward. He will spend that much on burned jet fuel. I would say the same thing if SHE was black and HE was white.

Chill.
Oh yeah, that is exactly the same thing
Give me a break, I'm done having this conversation with someone who can't is so irrational.
Yeah and another thing s/m
anyone else wonder why Bush/Cheney are conspiciously absent in McCain's campaign?
Yeah, and the really interesting thing about...
....my mom is, she has always been party faithful. She couldn't tell me why she voted for either Gore or Kerry, she simply did. You never heard an unkind word from her on either party. And you don't now either. Last I semi-talked politics with her, she was for Hillary, but again, she couldn't exactly tell me why, except that she was a democrat. I have yet to ask if she's now for Obama, though.

I voted for McGovern in high school (not the real deal as I was underage), but I remember the dems as having real ideals back then...then something happened along the way...may have been Carter, I don't know.

Hey sam, my test got buried in posts today, but if you go to page 2, I posted a website that tested if you are liberal or conservative....I was so surprised to see that I was still 20% liberal!. No one else bothered to post their results, after I bared my political soul (so to speak....lol), so I wondered if maybe some of our liberal friends here, had a mite bit of conservative leaning in their makeup, and were afraid to post it!!

Yeah, I agree about the rebellion thing....(sm)
I was talking about Sarah herself being the example, not her daughter.  I think politicians should be held to a higher standard.  Yeah, I know that Sarah wasn't the one that got pregnant, but in this day and age that doesn't matter too much.  I think given the fact that the republican party was going to have a hard time winning the election anyway (considering the war, the economy, Bush, etc), it was just a bad choice to pick someone in that situation as a running mate.  Having said that, I'm not sure just how much, if any, that situation actually hurt the ticket.  If it did hurt the ticket then I would think that it hurt them more with pub votes more than with dems.
Yeah...good thing she isn't debating Obama...
nm
Yeah, there was no threat made. It was a sick thing
nm
Yeah, it's the reverse racism thing. Happening in
nm
Yeah, it was, sorry.....I just don't think poking fun at sick people is a good thing to do....
and that was the thread. I think we are ALL better than that, much better things to talk about than that. So, I apologize...I will keep my indignation on the part of those who are the butt of jokes because of physical deformities to myself. I am better than stinging rebuttals myself..I will take my own advice.

Have a good day, vv, my friend.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. You've said before that you're leaving, but you and your goons can't sta

yeah, yeah, yeah.....what he failed to mention...
is that the Dems are responsible for the mortgage meltdown which is responsible for the wall street meltdown. Chris Dodd, Barney Frank...totally to blame. Blocked every attemmpt by Bush Admin and yes, McCain, to regulate fannie/freddie. Dems certainly have selective memories...convenient bouts of amnesia. lol.
But valuing over the price of a dollar is a right thing wing thing, so you are on the wrong board. n

What I found so far

I see where Perle and Rice take exception to some of his statements, but that's all I could find.  And I guess that would expected as they do have to protect themselves.  Also, it's very hard to find opinions that do not have a noticeable right or left slant.  If anyone out there has suggestions on middle-of-the-road, non-politically-sided information sites please let me know.

My point was how many people have to step forward and report that the White House manipulated the truth before it gets addressed?  How many can you dismiss as saying they had a book to sell, or they were protecting their careers, etc.?  At what point does some of what they are saying (Clark, Tenet, Powell to name a few) become believable?

I found it for myself sm

An eagle-eyed reporter for the ABC affiliate in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, noticed something missing from Democratic presidential contender Sen. Barack Obama's, D-Ill., lapels.

"You don't have the American flag pin on. Is that a fashion statement?" the reporter asked, at the end of a brief interview with Obama on Wednesday. "Those have been on politicians since Sept. 12, 2001."

Catch David Wright's report tonight on "World News with Charles Gibson."

The standard political reply to that question might well have been, "My patriotism speaks for itself."

But Obama didn't say that.

Instead the Illinois senator answered the question at length, explaining that he no longer wears such a pin, at least in part, because of the Iraq War.

"You know, the truth is that right after 9/11, I had a pin," Obama said. "Shortly after 9/11, particularly because as we're talking about the Iraq War, that became a substitute for I think true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security, I decided I won't wear that pin on my chest.

"Instead," he said, "I'm going to try to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great, and hopefully that will be a testimony to my patriotism."

In Iowa, some Obama supporters applauded the candidate's fashion statement. Said Carrie Haurum of Waterloo: "He doesn't need to wear that flag on his lapel. He wears it in his heart."

But talk radio and cable news quickly pounced on the issue.

"It just shows you he's not ready for the big time," conservative Laura Ingrams opined on Fox News.

Said Sean Hannity: "Why do we wear pins? Because our country is under attack!"

The Obama campaign declined to expand on the senator's statement. Spokesman Bill Burton said, "His comments speak for themselves."

But, Obama responded to the mini controversy.

"I'm less concerned with what you're wearing on your lapel than what's in your heart," Obama said Thursday while campaigning in Independence, Iowa.

"You show your patriotism by how you treat your fellow Americans, especially those who serve. And you show your patriotism by being true to your values and ideals. And that's what we have to lead with, our values and ideals," Obama said.

Of course, if he had said that in the first place, he might have avoided any controversy.

I found this almost sad...

found what I found..
This was actually on the wall street journal on line this morning. It was edited in. Here is what I found: Unfortunately, I can't provide the link; sorry. This is a quote from it, though.

"Take a closer look. It's a jpg screenshot of a webpage, easily edited. Seeing as they're running pidgin instant messenger in the background, I'd guess that the GIMP is probably the likely photo editing software of choice."

Bth of which can be found there.
nm
I found this....sm
I could only find these two. The first video won't play, and had this line on it. And when I put the whole line in google, I got the aol video.

"Senator Obama proposes a tax credit in the form of a check in the mail for mortgage interests, college tuition savings, childcare, clean cars, earned income tax credit to be expanded, a make-work-pay credit. All of these credits will be refundable to those people who don't pay taxes anyway in the form of a check in the mail. 63 million Americans would pay no federal income tax whatsoever, and most of them would get a check in the mail every January."

http://www.breitbart.tv/?p=196103

http://video.aol.com/video-detail/obamas-tax-plan-annual-tax-credit-check-for-tens-of-millions-of-filers-who-dont-pay-tax/3755547671/?icid=VIDURVGOV06

Okay....it took some looking but I found it....
o A $1,000 “Making Work Pay” Tax Credit. For 95 percent of workers and their families—150 million
workers overall—the “Making Work Pay” credit will provide a refundable tax cut of $500 for workers or
$1,000 for working couples. This credit will benefit over 15 million self employed workers and for 10
million low-income Americans, will completely eliminate their federal income taxes.
o A Refundable $4,000 American Opportunity Tax Credit. Barack Obama will provide a $4,000 fully refundable
tax credit to ensure that college is affordable for all American families. This credit will cover
100% of the first $4,000 of qualified tuition expenses, making community college essentially free and
covering about 2/3 of the cost of public 4-year college.iv
o A Universal 10% Mortgage Interest Tax Credit. Barack Obama will provide a 10% refundable credit to
offset mortgage interest payments and make homeownership more affordable for lower- and middle-income
families. This universal credit will provide an average tax cut of $500 to 10 million homeowners who do not itemize.

I see refundable in there a few times. And there you have the low income folks who will, with the help of this "credit," ELIMINATE their federal taxes. Who is going to take up that slack?
THERE is the bottom we were hunting.

Happy now?
Here's what I found
1. The 57 states. I think that was an honest mistake. I had not actually heard him say that, but that is not one of the main issues we were talking about. Him saying 57 states was not talked about very much and not one of the main concerns we had. Anyway...I think O just made an honest mistake, but here is the video clip.

http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=EpGH02DtIws

2. His muslim quote. The way you phrase it by wanting to see at least one minute prior and after the quote I already know you're going to come back and say that is going to be a slip of the tongue. I'll grant you that - it could have been, and then again it could have not been. If Stephanopolis had not said anything it would have been let go. Again, it could have been a slip of the tongue and people will believe one way or the other. The only people who know if he is really a muslim or christian is him and his family. But then again how many muslims sit and say "my christian faith" by accident. Do you think in Iran or Libya or any of the middle eastern countries they would ever say "my christian faith" by accident. I don't think so, just like you don't hear christians accidently slip and say my muslim faith or my jewish faith. Particularly I don't care if he's christian, muslim, jewish, hindu or athiest. When people talk about their faith, they usually say what their true faith is. Also you will see in this video that Stephanopolis was defending McCain and said that McCain was not going after Obama because of his faith. He kept repeating it over and over that McCain is not going after him because of his faith, but Obama kept ignoring and making it to look like the "poor me they're going after me", and like your original post said if its not true you can't make it up. But then again that would not have given him much sympathy from voters by admitting McCain left the religion out of the campaign.

Anyway...because you wanted to videotape here is it.

Just let me know what other lies you imply we were saying so I can provide credible sources for you.

Ridiculous. sm
Hey, aren't you guys worried about Rove anymore?
Ridiculous...I think not

This is not the military they are talking about. This is everyday people who have skills that can be used to help in the nation-building, desk jobs, PR jobs, all that sort of thing. An over-50 overweight person most certainly could do these things, clerical, educational.  In my neighborhood a 52-year-old national guard guy got called up for MILITARY duty so why would they not expect 50-somethings to lend whatever their professional abilities might be to lend a hand in desk job sort of work.

Am I going???? Are you nuts???

Of course not. I have fought against our occupation of Iraq from 2002 to this present day. I did not vote for Bush. I am just saying those of you that did, and those of you who just pretend everything is okay, this is your chance to show your true colors. I mean, after all, you are with the president or you're not (so he says).

We are not rebuilding anything in Iraq. They are on the verge of civil war. They can't put a constitution together and who in their right minds would expect them to be able to. You don't go from years of a monarchy to democracy overnight...and they are ending up with an Islamic government, sort of like...The Taliban!

Two simple questions.

What did my ______ die?

Are the Bush supporters, those who voted for him, are you going to join the civilian corps to support the cause you believe in?

That is ridiculous
Wow, that is a very scientific method, chosing who to vote or not to vote for because of their middle name. Wow. I may chose my next vote based on who is wearing my favorite color.

This is all so ridiculous, seriously.
Do you really think that the only reason Obama has said he feels family is off limits is to help his campaign? Do any of you really honestly think that? If so, then I do have pity for you to live in such a jaded world. He has children too and I can pretty much bet that he wouldn't want them attacked like that either.

It doesn't matter to me at all that SP daughter is pregnant and a teenager, everone makes mistakes. Period. It is not SP's fault this happened. No matter what you do or what you say when a child reaches a certain age they are going to make their own decisions and you cannot be there 24 hours a day.

I just have one question. Would any of you, as parents, put your child through this? Think hard and do some searching here. Don't just think about your political sides, because it doesn't matter if you are Ind., Rep, or Dem. If your daughter was 17 and pregnant, would you expose her to the public scrutiny? This is where my real problem with the whole thing is. It is not right that her daughter is going through this in the media, it should be private but we all know how the media, in all its forms, is today. SP didn't have to announce the pregnancy but it would have come out within the next few weeks or so regardless, she did the right thing by doing it in her words though and I am proud of that. But again, would you put your child through this. It is not bad enough that her daughter would have to worry about what people are going to say at school and in her home area, but now she has the world looking at her, talking about this - good or bad. Would you really put your child through that?

My question has nothing to do with birth control, abortion, etc. It is just a question, for me, of SP's judgment here. Would you put your child through all of this and for what? Your career or political aspiration?

My answer is no, I would not. Nothing is more important to me than my children, I'm sorry not even the VP job of this country. I don't care if your child says, "Mom, do it, I'll be okay." I would not and could put her through that.

Again, I am not saying SP is a bad mother and am not bashing her, I'm just saying IMO she used very poor judgment when she agreed to be the VP candidate. I would be saying this regardless of what party affiliation she has.
okay, this is ridiculous already
doesn't anybody have a shred of common decency left? Where the heck are you all coming up with this utter crap?
Isn't it ridiculous?
It is so ridiculous ... all the BS that flies around the web? And even more ridiculous that so many people believe it all. What the #^@%?!!

The whole flag pin thing is so juvenile and superficial too. Honestly, I don't see how politicians cannot view our citizens as a bunch of nitwits!
It's ridiculous and
childish and gets in the way of what the process is SUPPOSED to be!

There would be nothing wrong with a neutral panel analyzing their plans to the degree that they can to see if they work out numerically (as they always say the other's won't)

And to provide understanding into the issues voted on (since they are never about one thing but have a other crap slapped in with a main issue). Mainstream America would have a more realistic picture of who they are voting for.

Or perhaps they should just switch from mud slinging to Jello wrestling!
This guy is just ridiculous
So far he has lied about everything, talks about running for congress, and then stands up the one guy at a rally that gave him all the publicity (McCain).
What you are saying is just ridiculous...nm
nm
Ridiculous!

Below is copied directly from the link.  It doesn't talk about punishment of any kind for those who don't wish to participate.  It DOES talk about rewards, though, for those who do wish to participate.  It offers a choice.  You don't have to participate in it if you're rich and can afford to send your kids to college, but why do you want to deny those who can't the opportunity to do so?

You're filling this board with fiction and calling it truth.  THIS is the TRUE message of the link:

"Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by setting a goal that all middle school and high school students do 50 hours of community service a year and by developing a plan so that all college students who conduct 100 hours of community service receive a universal and fully refundable tax credit ensuring that the first $4,000 of their college education is completely free."

That is ridiculous.
If anything, his administration will return the rights that have been lost these last 8 years.
Ridiculous.
Every single word you utter. Do you actually know any lefties? You cannot begin to imagine how excited and energized the base is despite the pubs bets efforts to throw out their wet blankets. The progressives have always served the party as vigilent critical watchdogs. It is a necessary evil in ANY political party...the ability to be introspective, even self-deprecating at times...a lesson the pubs obviously have not yet learned the value of.
Oh, come on! This is ridiculous. You have gone off
nm
Ridiculous!
If Burris had not been appointed to fill Obama's senate seat, another Democrat would have been appointed, and the vote would have been exactly the same. So much for your silly conspiracy theory.
That is ridiculous.
My entire life has been devoted to midwifery and GYN/NICU/OB nursing, and you think that because I don't want to participate in abortions I should find another line of work? I've taken care of plenty of RESULTS of abortions gone wrong, in the form of babies who decided to take a breath after they were expelled or manually removed from their mothers' wombs. Does that count?
No it is not ridiculous!
You knew exactly what your job entailed when you signed up for it. If you are not willing to perform the requirements of your job, you should find another line of work.
Ridiculous
If you don't want your families torn apart, then make sure you are LEGAL!!!

I'm sorry but this is just getting ridiculous. I have no problem with immigrants, as long as they are here legally, following our laws, and helping to pay taxes.

The snowball just keeps rolling...
Tell Me About it! It's ridiculous...and to think,

just last month, Rendel was crying the blues about not having enough $$ to keep the state running, so took all this bailout money. He is doing a double duty bailout by following what O is doing and Rendel duplicates O's programs. He should be run out on a rail and thank heavens, this is his last term.

Tea Party in Harrisburg on April 15.

Ridiculous!!!

That's ridiculous
I bet you're behind Obama 100%, but he claims to be a Christian, so do you consider him to be a "glassy eyed born again zombie"?

I love how everyone deserves tolerance except for Christians.
TS: How ridiculous is this!: You say in
at the end of your post:...

I won't answer your absurd accusations again and 'return the other readers to the program previously in progress.'

Are we on TV and you are an anchor man?
This is ridiculous
Once again the actions of a few are being attributed to many. I am a Christian and I am not forcing my beliefs on anyone. I have never gathered to decide who the next victim is and I am not on a crusade to save anyone nor am I on a mission to take over the country and make everyone a Christian. You have said the gays and lesbians want to be left alone and live their lives. Guess what? So do Christians. I just want to live my life, worship as I choose and be respected for who and what I am as I respect others for who and what they are. True Christians love and respect their fellow man. If one does not do so, then they are not truly Christian people. I have said this before and will say it again, calling oneself a Christian does not make it so.
Ridiculous.
He's only been in office since January. You are totally unrealistic. He couldn't have just sat idly by and done nothing - that's just silly!

People said the same things about FDR back in his day, yet he turned out to be the best thing that ever happend for this country.

Get over your prejudices and give the man a chance.
