Liberals..YIPES..run for your life..this board has been taken over by rabid conservatives..I decided the other day not to read the posts from the conservatives who have the nerve to come over here and start trouble..Their posts are like fungus, they just keep multiplying.

It is regrettable you call yourself a **recovering** Democrat, as I find that insulting in itself; do you really think you should be welcomed with open arms to a liberal board by using that term? Often it is the approach that is used that turns people off, as I belive is the case below. I am a Democrat and Democrats frustrate me to no end sometimes, but I would rather drink Drano and gouge my eyes out with a spoon than be a Republican...at least what it means now. There was a time when I respected them, but now I feel nothing but contempt for all they stand for. Neocons have hijacked what was once an honorable party with their fake moral values and hypocrisy which I simply cannot stomach.

Yes, it's a pity we can't remain civil in debate and to respect each other's differences and try to get along, but I fear those days are over, as long as people are too busy watching American Idol, et.al., and not paying attention to what is going on around them, defending corruption or, worse yet, remaining silent.

I'm sure some of the Republican posters are nice people and sincere in their beliefs. The "I'm keeping tally" person seems to have a real problem. She sees every poster that doesn't agree with her as "nasty." Well, calling people O lover, ignorant, stupid and the list goes on is pretty nasty but the only thing she/he sees as nasty is if someone happens to not support her beloved John McCain/Sarah Palin. I am neither a Democrat nor a Republican but I can reason for myself. I respect the right of everyone to have a different opinion than mine. Michelle has, through her career, spoken in public many times, and in her profession I am sure speaks before groups, boards, etc. She was also very active in the primary season. She is no stranger to public speaking.
Cindy McCain has been a doer, not a talker, as far as her humanitarian stuff. THat is not to imply that Michelle Obama has not done anything...just that Cindy McCain is not one of those people comfortable in the spotlight. And different personalities...I think Michelle Obama is definitely type A...what energy!

Of course, not as much as the troops, but there are attempts, shootings, bombs, threats, etc.
I never said that the troops should just do their jobs. I worked along side military members from every branch of service. But, if you choose to be in the military, you have a lot more to worry about than some people protesting.
People have been protesting the military for several years now (all of my life-time and then some), and it is not going to change. Do I agree with all protesting? No. But, as long as they are obeying the law, they are within their rights.
Very sad. Our soldiers are giving their lives....sm
and they are coming home severly injured to less than adequate medical care after excellent care in the field, no psychological counseling, no support for their families, deplorable living conditions, and on and on. I believe this war is wrong but support the troops 100%. Disgraceful!

aren't really important to me. This guy didn't lie under oath about his affair. Clinton did but I still really don't care. There peckers and/or cigars aren't my concern. I'm more concerned about how our country is being run and the money being spent, etc. Affairs are things that happen too often. I don't condone that type of behavior but they will have to pay the consequences for their actions. More important issues to discuss than this.
