Charges were dropped. That sounds more like a free pass than merely postponing his trial which is what they could have said they were doing -- Postponing any legal procedures for the time being. That would have sounded a little better than "charges dropped with prejudice" and "legal proceedings halted until further notice."
Charges were dropped and legal proceedings against all terrorists at Gitmo have been halted thanks to O's executive order.
Sounds like a free pass to me or at least the beginning of one. One small victory for terrorists everywhere.
