not a Republican...I call Barack Obama a socialist because he is one, not because he supports social programs (the accused Republicans do also, to a point, otherwise there would be none), but because he wants to practice redistribution of wealth...taaxing one group of people and redistributing that money to people who did nothing to earn it...including people who already do not pay taxes.
I never said Obama was a communist. He has had communist influences in his life, that is proven, he mentions the man in his book Dreams of My Father. But I have never said Barack Obama was a communist. I don't know if he is or not. I do know he is a socialist.

it is seriously under-funded, which is why Obama signed legislation to delay the deadline for conversion. That, I believe, was the whole point of putting funds for it in the stimulus. I would guess that a lot of people do not have TVs and/or digital cable, and the coupons that the stimulus talks about would help those people who would not otherwise be able to afford to change equipment by the deadline. Changed from Feb to (I think) July.
As far as stimulus for the economy, these coupons act as money which would go to the cable companies which creates more demand = jobs, jobs, jobs. -- people have to hook this stuff up -- people who build converter boxes -- people who make the parts for the converter boxes........etc.
Any time money is spent for, in particular, a product, it creates demand and therefore creates jobs.

Just trying to give you the benefit of the doubt that you just might be interested in some intelligent dialog. Here's the deal. GOP party is in a shambles and is experiencing a leadership crisis right in the middle of the final hours of this current election. My mother, a life-long republican, lamented this schism in her party for at least 15 years before she passed away...in 1998. It boggles the mind to sit here and wonder just how much longer it is going to take before the GOP realizes that the fringe has destroyed this party. You think all those "undecided" out there are fence-sitting democrats. Think again. They are disaffected and disenfranchised pubs who simply cannot stomach the idea of a McCain/Failin ticket.

They were no exactly death threats, but under a post wishing President Bush Happy Birthday, there were two posts saying something to the effect that they hoped Bush died and burned in hell. Also, every single thing you accuse conservatives of in this long post, every SINGLE thing, has been committed on this board by liberals. You might also notice that most of the conservative posters have stopped coming over here, something the liberal posters have not been able to do, as their drive-by postings still appear sporadically and predictably.
