What bugs me the most about this...

...is that her answer is being characterized as being "extreme". For instance, one media moron said that "Miss USA is supposed to represent everyone". Well, that can mean only one of two things:
1. She can have no opinions at all about any issue at all unless "everyone" shares the same opinion. Since there is no such issue that I'm aware of, she could have no opinions whatsoever - and then I suppose we'd call her an airhead or...what was it again...a "dumb B-word".
2. She can have an opinion shared by the majority of Americans - and that's exactly the opinion that Miss Prejean expressed. Despite the attempts of the media morons to suggest that her opinion is "extreme", it is the opinion that poll after poll after poll has said is held by the majority of Americans, and a significant majority, at that. When the people have voted rather than the courts asserting a level of power that is unconstitutional (legislating from the bench), marriage is defined as belonging to the union between a man and a woman.
It doesn't matter whether anyone agrees with that opinion or not. Suggesting that it is "not representative" of America cannot mean that it is not the opinion of the majority, but only that it is not representative of "everybody" - and then we're back to our "dumb B-word" who holds no opinions of her own and only makes vacuous statements like "It should be left to the states" (which still begs the question how she would vote in her own state if the question came up on a ballot, doesn't it?).
