move out of Florida. Do something to make your life better. You (and everyone else) are in control of their lives. There are people who have barely had a dollar to their names who have seized the opportunity in this country, stopped relying on government programs (or never relied on them at all)and are doing well. Some of them are not even college educated. There are examples in my own family.
All I can say to you is if you are expecting government to take care of all your woes you're going to always be miserable. You think all the good news is on pie charts and graphs...to me it sounds like you don't believe any good news you hear. That's about as unrealistic as hearing all good news and think there is no suffering in the world.
I'm not trying to argue with you, but like I stated above, it's not the grim picture you are painting it to be. It's not perfect and never will be. All we can do is try to help our neighbor and do the best we can for ourselves and others.
