Obama's approval rating............ sm
According to the RPC, Obama's overall approval rating has slipped to just slightly over 60% and Congress' approval rating is at a whopping 33.3% and 61.2% of those polled feel that this country is on the wrong track.
Just thought I'd share that bit of dismal news.
Obama, Democrat Approval Slipping
Obama's approval index (number who strongly approve minus number who strongly disapprove) has slipped to +4 from +30 on taking office. 35% strongly approve, 31% strongly disapprove.
Rasmussen polling also shows that more voters would choose a "generic" Republican over a "generic" Democrat in the next election by a 2-point margin. Similar polling in recent weeks had previously shown the Democrats to an edge of up to 6 pointts. This has evaporated.
I predict that the slippage will continue as Democrats overplay their hand in Congress, and as the bill for their drunken spending spree and the unthinkable mountain of debt they're accumulating begins to land on the average citizen, as it ALWAYS does, one way or another (higher local/state/sales taxes, higher license fees, higher prices, wage stagnation, etc.).
The reason this always happens is because that's the way economics happens to work and neither Obama, Pelosi nor any of their arrogant commie pals can change the rules of economics - even if they do push us into socialism. (Some of our younger members should study up on the inequality of income that has resulted under ALL of the socialist, "nanny-state" and/or communist systems. It will disillusion you about all such schemes forever.)
Obama Approval Index sinks from +30 to +2
I won't be surprised to see him in negative territory tomorrow once the American people find out what he actually said today in Cairo. DISGRACEFUL SPEECH!
Obama's Approval Index hits negative territory
The approval index is computed by subtracting the percentage of voters who strongly disapprove of Obama's job performance from those who strongly approve of it.
Once sporting an index in the +30 range, the Big BO (you may interpret "BO" however you wish) has in a matter of a mere handful of months fallen like Lucifer from Heaven. May his end be similarly appropriate, politically speaking. Let's make this goofy clown a one-term bozo.
Why are you being so mean to everyone giving the O in Obama a bad name!

If you elect Obama....you are giving the power to the party...
who are largely responsible for the "mess" we currently find ourselves in.
Gene Robinson: Gay Bishop Giving Obama Inauguration Prayer
Well, even though that Saddleback jerks is there too...
from the Huffington Post 1/12/09
New Hampshire Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson, a vocal gay rights leader, will open President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration with a prayer on Sunday's kick-off event at the Lincoln Memorial.
"I am writing to tell you that President-Elect Obama and the Inaugural Committee have invited me to give the invocation at the opening event of the Inaugural Week activities, We are One, to be held at the Lincoln Memorial," Robinson wrote in an email to friends.
The announcement comes after weeks of outcry from the gay community over Obama's choice of evangelical, anti-gay pastor Rick Warren to deliver the inaugural invocation.
"It's important for any minority to see themselves represented in some way," Robinson said in an interview with the Concord Monitor. "Whether it be a racial minority, an ethnic minority or, in our case, a sexual minority. Just seeing someone like you up front matters."
Robinson is the first openly gay diocesan bishop in the Anglican Communion. "God never gets it wrong. The church often takes a long time to get it right. It is a human institution, but one capable of self-correction," Robinson told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. "I believe in my heart that the church got it wrong about homosexuality. There is great excitement in my heart to be living in a time when the church is starting to get it right."
Robinson said he would love to sit down with Rick Warren but believed that the California pastor has "perpetrated lies about the gay, lesbian and bisexual community."
Palin, the candidate that just keeps giving and giving...

Republicans favor giving poor families subsidies to afford private schools. Obama opposed.
Yet Obama sends his daughters to a private school, 29,000 for EACH KID. Hypocrisy, here we come. Geesh, not even in office yet.
He got an 80% approval because he is the
;)
YEP, that is why their approval rating is ....
GASSSSPPPPPP lower than...omg no say it ain't so......BUSH'S. ROFL.
80% approval rating
Because Alaska is full of A-holes, like 50% of this country.
Yep, his approval rating is low.
But the democratic Congress is lower after just 2 years.
They only have a 9% approval rating...way to go! nm
//
The 80% approval rating was for....(sm)
how he was handling the transition.
His approval rating is 63%
Obviously everybody else in the country likes him and thinks he is doing a good job.
The one on this board only come here to gripe, because obviously the other 27% (hmmm....could they be the ones who approved of Bush - wasn't that HIS approval rating at the end??) are MTs and come to this board.
By reading this nonsense, you would think the rest of the country sided with them. Glad to know it's not true!
She has an 80% approval rating in Alaska...
to me that indicates that the voters who put her there are very happy they put her there. THat includes Democrats, Republicans, and Independents.
The man was corrupt. She got rid of corruption. Most Presidents when they go into the job, as well as most governors, "clean house" when they go into office, whether they are corrupt or not. You act like that is something that is "not done." Good grief.
My bias is showing? Now THAT is rich. LOL.
Okay...first, what an elitist comment. A tiny Alaska community? Those people don't count? Well you certainly relegated them to the back back back burner didn't you? Tell me again how important the "little" people are! She has 12 months of actual executive experience. Obama has none. She is going to be second chair, not first. She has an 80% approval rating...Obama never HAS had that, except from NARAL, who gave him 100%. I would say that her constituents are happier with her than Obama's were with him.
I think she is ready for the "big boys." Let's see how she does in the debates with Biden.
Why is it that Democrats laud democratic whistleblowers and diss Republican ones??
Unless McCain dies or incapacitated, she won't be getting that 3:00 call. But since you brought it up...this little person has a question about that 3:00 call. Is Obama going to call Joe Biden on the other line???
Why did Palin have any over 80% approval rating?
nm
Well that most recent 67% approval rating
How credible do you think you are by passing judgment on Obama administration 6 weeks before he is even sworn into office?
Yep, they actually have a lower approval rating than
nm
She has an 80% approval rating in Alaska...
so obviously "most" of the people in Alaska do not agree.
I have seen her very low and still slipping approval rating, YES nm
nm
With a 37% approval rating, I daresay
these are *embittered partisan protests.* So, maybe you aren't proud, but I still do not feel my *indignation* is misplaced. You are the one thinking partisan.
His approval ratings are dropping.
These are the lowest of all time and they keep dropping. Rasmussen shows 43%-56% approval. He's lost all Republican support, a good part of Independent support, and some democratic support, and the trend is most negative.
Gallup evaluated all presidents going back to Richard Nixon. His 63% level with them is about the same as the average of every president going back to 1968 during their first months in office.
Obama's approval rating went up 1 to 4 points with self-identified democrats but dropped 14% with conservatives
His approval rating is also below where George W. Bush's was in 2001 and is lower than Jimmy Carter's 71% rating
Polling shows there is great economic concerns. 83% are worried what the O has done will not fix the economy and that it will only get worse (go figure), 82% say they are worried about all the money being added to the deficit and inflation, and 69% are worried about the size of government increasing. Additionally, support for the stimulus package has dropped.
Rasmussen also shows that people are opposing Obamas budget 46% to 41%. This is not good news at all.
It also states that voters blame Republicans for the lack of bipartisanship in WA, they also say that the O has not made any progress in improving cooperation between the two parties (another broken campaign promise).

Sorry - the Approval Index is by Rasmussen
+30 the day after his inauguration...down...down...down...a few blips up...but mostly DOWN. Not hard to see why, of course - it's called buyer's remorse. Unfortunately, there's no Lemon Law when it comes to kissing a political toad and learning to our sorrow that it really is just a toad - and was never anything else. In 2012, we'll try a different toad.

Bush Approval Continues to Fall
Could the rest of America be getting a clue?
August 17, 2005
President Bush’s job approval has dropped to 41% nationwide, according to the results of 50 separate but concurrent, statewide public opinion polls conducted by SurveyUSA. Bush’s aproval rating ranges from a high of 59% in Idaho to a low of 29% in Rhode Island.
- Bush is above 50% in 7 states.
- Bush is at 50% in 2 states.
- Bush is below 50% in 41 states.
Compared to last month's poll, Bush's approval numbers dropped 5 or more points in 10 states. The single largest drop was in Minnesota, where it fell 10 points. Bush also fell 9 points in New Mexico.
Bush Approval Ratings Have not Bulged...sm
That wasn't an approval rating, it was desperation
When an economic recession is looming, people become scared and will do just about anything hoping things will turn around...... that is the only reason Obama got the vote, that and a few states that haven't a clue about what it's like paying for lazy baby makers and their daddies all day long....
Flame all you want!!!!
Yeah, poor Sarah and her 80% approval rating.
nm
Gallup Poll shows a 62-67% approval rating.......nm

what are you giving up?
What are some things that you and/or your family are giving up due to the high price of gas and now the rise in food prices? My family - just me and my husband now - buy 2 large packs of water at Sam's every 2 weeks and drink this, sometimes getting some crystal light or something to put in it. We eat a meal once a week and that's it. Needless to say - we are both losing weight. But to fill up his truck - that's $100 a week - even though he only works 3 days a week now - and I work at home - so I only go out twice a month - to a dr. appointment and then the second time to get the water.
I'm giving up
It is so hard to have a positive outlook on society anymore. I think I should have been born about 100 years ago. This country has no more morals, all people care about is political correctness and not stepping on anyone's toes. The God of this nation has been pushed out, and people want to know why kids are shooting each other. We have become so pompous we think we can take care of ourselves. I want to live in a time when women respected their bodies and didn't just give it up to anyone. Where rapist were few and far between because they would be hanged if caught. They couldn't wiggle their way out of the judicial system on a technicality. Where we didn't need welfare because neighbor helped neighbor and everyone worked hard and worked together. Where there wasn't an obesity problem because kids played outside from after school until "the street lamp came on". Where people knew God and had a relationship with him. Where "love thy neighbor" was not just a commandment, but an action.
At 22 years old, I wonder if there will be an USA when I'm 40? Is it possible for our nation to survive at the rapid rate of decline we are experiencing for 18 more years? I used to pray to Jesus to wait to come, knowing it was selfish, because I knew so many people who didn't know his love and were not saved, including my own parents, and it killed me to think that we may be separated eternally because of that. Now I just can't help but to pray that He comes soon. All these movies about a post apocalyptic United States don't seem so far fetched now, minus all the zombies that is. We have to wake up. We need to fall to our knees and beg God for forgiveness and beg him to come back to our nation. If you don't believe in Him or want to scoff at me for saying this, I am so sorry. I am so sorry that you do not know the love of Christ. I just hope you get to know Him before it's to late.
God help us.
Not particularly.....just giving
the board a good lookover before I go lie down.
Too many with no b*lls giving in to a few who believe

You are giving her credit for something
she will NEVER do. She will never unite the party. She will only go on and on and on until it is impossible for a democrat to win this year, making McCain the president. All she wants is to be president, and if Obama gets in there, she will have to wait until 2016 when she'll be going on age 68. She doesn't care about the country or the democratic party. All she cares about is power, not about anything but HER and Bill. Sad, but the truth.
Um, excuse me, since when did giving
intelligent, well thought-out replies and giving one's opinion constitute bullying?
Gimme a break. Sam has every right to be here and she brings a lot to this board. Maybe if those who bash follow her lead in effective posting, the atmosphere here would be shall I say more of a good debate than a circus?
No, he's just giving them HOPE. Something that
Get used to it. She's the story that just keeps on giving
there will be plenty more where that comes from.
I am giving him a chance and I
know that this isn't a quick fix. I'm realistic enough to know Obama cannot wave a magic wand and make this all go away. I'm just saying that for a man who hasnt' been pres for a whole week......he has made a lot of promises already with 2 already broken. I'm not trying to get a lynching mob together. I just want to stay informed of what my president and the government is doing because I refuse to just assume they are making the right decisions. Holy crap people.....seriously! Xanax....try some.
You mean too many with brains giving in.
There is a big difference between intelligence and lack of cahones.
I was just giving figures from what they said.
Dont' burn me for that.
AIG - the gift that keeps on giving. sm
Beginning with the first bailout under the Bush administration, and accelerating apace (which one wouldn't have thought possible) under Obama, the ineptitude in dealing with every aspect of the current economic problems is simpy staggering.
This ineptitude includes both Presidents, both Treasury secretaries, the man who was/is Fed chairman under both Presidents(Bernanke), Congress, and regulatory agencies such as the SEC and FDIC.
Consider this interesting little fact: It has taken six months for the Ethics Committee to investigate some fairly simple charges of financial misconduct by Charlie Rangel, but Congress can pass three major bills, two of which were so large they couldn't be read by anyone, in a matter of a few days (and in the case of the third bill which unconstitutionally taxes AIG bonuses, in just one day).
My dear friends, this country is in trouble. The government is behaving impulsively and has, in my long life, never before been in such a state of disarray. Our response to the financial crisis is beginning to look like nothing so exquisitely as a Chinese fire drill.
We are apparently determined to prove to the world that we're going to make a pig's breakfast out of this crisis, but hey...at least we did it fast!
Impulsive and reckless government - THAT is what the American people (and the world) are seeing, and THAT is what I believe is beginning to frighten us even more than the economic crisis itself.
No, the administrator is not giving me any information, nor would I ask. sm
I made a rejoiner when you once again accused me of something I didn't do (see above posts). Have you got all the meat off this bone yet!
Very sad. Our soldiers are giving their lives....sm
and they are coming home severly injured to less than adequate medical care after excellent care in the field, no psychological counseling, no support for their families, deplorable living conditions, and on and on. I believe this war is wrong but support the troops 100%. Disgraceful!
Okay, now those of who make $50,000 are giving to those who won't work
Every year at tax time, I have to pay more taxes, more taxes, more taxes. Every year at tax time, my friends and family members who make less than me get back these huge checks of 3, 4, and 5 thousand dollars because of earned income - did they earn that money? No, it is coming out of our checks to give to them. Can't ya'll see that is the way it works now, but it is not just the people with a lot of money giving it? It is us - the middle class!
First of all, there is nothing wrong with giving money...sm
to an organization to get out the vote. The trouble is there was no oversight by ACORN to ensure that the registrations to vote were legit.
Not ignorant, just giving a truism. nm
m
I don't agree with not giving them the bailout.
I think part of the problem is that now the foreign car makers who have plants here want a piece of the pie if the big 3 get it. I think that's what is turning them off.
They should never have started this bailout crap. I was against it from the start. But do our lawmakers listen to us? Nope. They should have held a special election and let the people vote on it.
I think we need to start throwing out the guys who are not listening to their constiuents. A good wake up call might just straighten these jerks up.
Sorry, I don't feel like giving him a break.
He has trampled the Constitution, declared himself to be the "decider," started a war in a country that did nothing to provoke it, run this country into the ground while making his good friends on Wall Street richer. And let's not forget his "boss," D*ck Cheney. (Well I'll be danged, I had to take the "i" out of his name as when I went to submit the post it said it was a bad word.) LOL Bush had his chance at a "break." I gave him 2 thumbs up after his speech following 9/11 and he blew it and that was just the beginning of his blowing everything that he came in contact with. Sorry...Bush has already had his break from me and he gets no more. I'd be happy to buy him a 1 way bus ticket back to Texas myself....assuming Texas wants him, which I seriously doubt.
Obama I will give a break and if he doesn't hold up to what he has said he will do I'll be all over him like ugly on an ape all over this board and any other one I can find.
So giving tax breaks & loopholes to the
ultra-wealthy top few percent & the corporations, and incentives to offshore, (the republican way), thereby putting us in the economic crisis that we're in right now & during the Great Depression is really a great plan that works so well... NOT. It took a Democrat to un-do the republican mess during the Great Depression, and it's going to take a Democrat now to un-do Bush's economic nightmare he's created for us. Time and time again, every republican creates a recession and/or depression, and we have a thriving economy under Democrats, and I can understand corporations and ultra-rich people voting republican, but I have no respect for any working person who votes republican because they're just not bothering to pay attention. And thanks a lot for the Bush nightmare by the way.
