.. not to rain on your uninformed criticism, but it's quite difficult for a single person to do a traditional 3-corner fold on a flag.  Protocol requires that you keep the American flag from touching the ground, which he did. 


In a former job, I had to raise and take down several rather large (municipal)  US flags - larger than a king-size bed spread.  No other way for one person to do this but to bunch it up to carry it, then either hang it over the rail of a stairwell to fold it into a triangle, or get someone else to help you with it.  The triangle fold allows you to attach the flag and let it unfold while you raise it, once again, without it touching the ground. 


Flag burning can be either an act of disrespect, or the only respectful way to dispose of a tattered flag.  It all depends on intent and manner.
