Obviously what McCain said was intended to be amusing and it went thud. Not any worse than the serious Michelle Obama comment that for the first time in her adult like she was proud of her country. Given the two, I would be more concerned about the serious comment that the other. Just my opinion. I don't think that means that John McCain seriously wishes all Iranians die of lung cancer...lol. However, I do believe that Michelle Obama was serious. And she is only proud of her country now because her husband is running for Pres of said country. Sooo...as comments go...McCain's is a nonstarter. And what about Barack saying he would sit down with Ahmadinejad for a face to face with no precursors...but quickly flip-flopped when firestorm hit. These "serious" comments concern me far more than McCain trying to be "cute" and falling flat. Again...just my opinion.
