To each their own

For the most part I do trust my government. I feel much more secure than I did when Clinton was in office. Even with Clinton in office receiving sexual favors I did not distrust my government. Getting Clinton out of office was not my every waking thought as it seems to be some in this country. I don't remember anyone hating Clinton so much they went and bought five acres outside his Arkansas home just so they could protest the few days he actually stayed there every year.
I know there are checks and balances and for the most part they work. There are a few things being done now in attempt to make the judicial branch more powerful that bothers me, but national security-wise I feel much safer in the aggressive actions we are taking. I think the fact that we have not had another major terrorist attack in nearly five years speaks volumes of our national security. I'm not saying that we won't get hit again. I believe we will, but I think we are better able to handle national security than we were in the Clinton years when military and security cutbacks were the norm.
Anyway, I guess I know if government does break down there are good men out there who will fight to their death to protect me and my family. Government is not the beginning and end all to my quality of life and security.
