I wasn't wild about Palin, but
she is a woman; that means she is TOUGH. She can take it.
She is in state politics & was on the national political stage for a short time. The stakes are high in those arenas. She was willing to take a huge risk because the payoff would have been world-class. Like I said, I didn't think she had the makings of a VP, but I have to respect her for putting it out there & trying her best, which I think she did.
I have to ask myself if we would be so worried about her if she were a man. If this is the case, it's because society says we should not associate "female" with "strength." We should define the terms for society, not the other way around. Stop worrying about her feelings so much. I'm not saying this because I think humanity's ultimate goal is to stop caring about each other, I'm saying it because I think the first stages of equality involve playing by men's rules. When the playing field is equal, women will be more free to define the terms.
