Seriously. Being gay is not a religious belief. It's who a person is. Polygamy is a religious practice, or a component of a religious practice. Polygamy is not a "group of people." One has absolutely nothing to do with the other. I won't even go into the animal thing I hear all the time. That's just crazy. People whose minds go straight from gay marriage to animal and multiple marriage are the scary people. Not gays. We just want to be left the heII alone to live our lives as we see fit just like everyone else without religious or any other type of interference that is uninvited. Those beliefs are about you. No one else.

That is not polygamy
That's bigamy...sort of. Bigamy is the act of entering into a marriage with 1 person while still married to another. Polygamy is most certainly a component of the Mormon faith, even though many of them have discarded it. As for group sex, that has nothing to do with any of the above OR gay marriage. Still 150% irrelevant. Gay marriage is about 2 people who love each other wanting to be married. Period. That's all there is to it. We don't care any more about multiple marriages than we care who you marry. Irrelevant.

Same old conservative arguments
Well, if the posts of Democrat Liberals bother you so much (as seems to be from reading your posts), you dont have to post or read them here. I must remind you, this is the Liberal board. I look forward to read dialogue with the opposite view point, however, bringing up the same arguments is getting a bit old.

Polygamy is predominately
one man married to many women. The early Mormons espoused (pardon the pun) it in order to increase their numbers quickly. Muslims practice it (the harem) for tribal and dynastic reasons; everybody is related to everybody (but I believe the primary reason is recreational.) Behind all this I think there is a very strong element of a guy thinking he is just too great to be wasted on one woman. Male ego, in other words.
I think the motivation is entirely different from two people caring deeply and wanting to commit to one another.
Losing arguments and saying nothing significant
The OP obviously knows a whole lot more about what she is talking about than you have demonstrated with your snips. If this is how your party thinks they can win friends and influence people, no wonder they are so far down in the tank. This kind of response make you look very small.
I personally feel that polygamy is
just as bad as SSM. I'm against both really. I don't see how you could be for one and oppose the other.
Polygamy isn't just religious beliefs
There are others, such as "swingers" who engage in group sex. Who's not to say that they wouldn't start to fight for the right to marry, even if only for the massive tax break they would get?

An animal is not the same thing
as an unborn human child. How silly to compare the two.
Animal treatment
I have to agree with you there. While I am neither PETA nor vegetarian either, the treatment of animals in this country is horrible for the most part. And those of us who do try to help the homeless animals cannot get any assistance either. For example, some jerk in my area dumped out thirteen coon hounds in my area. Of thirteen, two made it to my house (i'm in the country). I counted five on the side of the road, dead, and i have no idea what happened to the others. The two that made it to my home were not neutered/spayed (one male, one female). When I called the humane society, they told me that I did not qualify for the low income spay/neuter program (I guess the 24,000 we made last year is not considered low income) and that I would have to pay about 200 each to get them spayed. When I told them I couldn't afford this and that these dogs were strays that I was just trying to help, they told me if I brought them there they would more than likely be euthanized!
In the end I ended up finding a man to take them who treats his hunting dogs like family members, and he called me awhile ago to tell me they were worth their weight in gold and he had them both fixed.
But not all animals end up that way. Most end up euthanized because some jerk owner decides he doesn't want them anymore and dumps them.
Sorry if I'm ranting, but with all this country has, can't we treat "man's best friend" a little better? Not just dogs, but all animals.

Have you ever heard of aerial hunting? It's a brutal practice. Wolves are shot from low-flying aircraft or chased to exhaustion, then killed at point-blank range.
Governor Sarah Palin, the Republican nominee for Vice President, promotes this barbaric practice, exploiting a loophole in the Federal Airborne Hunting Act to allow private wolf killers to shoot down wolves using aircraft. Whether it's politicians or Hollywood, THEY need to consume much many of the world's resources in order to get the word out to YOU poor fools who do not know how to conduct your personal lives in the 'green' way. Lead by example, you say? How could you possibly begrudge them their private jets and motorcades when these are necessary to spread the information about switching to CFL light bulbs?
