Part of Barack Obama's story -- from the very beginning of his campaign -- was that, win or lose, his daughters were going to get a puppy. This isn't something new, and there is nothing sinister behind it.
It's a DOG. A DOG. To try to assign suspicious motives of two parents agreeing to let their kids have a DOG is what is uncalled for. It's the kind of ridiculous speculation that leads to unfounded, false rumors that grow in severity as they are repeated from one person to the next.
Why can't we just give President-Elect Obama a CHANCE to be President? He just might be a good one, but if we're too busy speculating why he might permit his children to have a PET, we'll never know.
