I think you both misunderstood the article. It was an ironic piece illuminating the conundrums brought into play by bad policies.
This lull in fighting could be just the natural course of war and nothing more. Only time will tell. I have a feeling it is going to escalate again. "The troops are getting restless" as they say, and I am not talking about our troops.
