That's your perception

the whole was it legal issue is still being hashed out. Again, who has been abused by this? None of Pres. Bush's accusers can seem to find any abuses of innocent American people. Again, you have no idea about intelligence. When you sign onto a public internet or make a phone call using a public phone system you are not guaranteed privacy. Now, if someone was breaking into your house and planting bugs--that's another story.

Again, what's your beef with catching terrorists?

Just my perception, I guess.
I don't have specific reasons, it's just the way I view you guys in general.  I guess you just seem to disagree with 99% of posts on this board, so you seem to be polar opposites to all things even remotely liberal.  Please feel free to set me straight if I'm wrong.  I honestly don't mind at this point.  I did get sick of arguing with you over the SCHIP plan and just grew weary of the whole argument, but I really do like a good debate and do learn things through arguing.  I don't think I'll have any reason to argue with you on this though, because obviously you would just be describing how you classify yourself, which is obviously completely up to you.
I understand your perception....
it is the same perception I have of liberals...polar opposites to anything remotely conservative. Sooo we do have something in common...lol. I am still trying to figure out what a liberal really is...I asked the question and got so many different answers...but none of the answers I got seemed to fit with the posting that I see here. So color me confused.

I had been a registered Independent for many years...however, this election and this group of candidates was too important to me, so I changed my affiliation to Republican so that I could vote in the primaries. I don't toe the party line and never have.

I do look forward to discussions with you...seriously. But let's call it debate and discussion and not arguing...lol. Put a positive "spin" on it so to speak. ;-)

Have a good evening, kam.. :-)
The problem with your perception...(sm)

of these things is that you don't look for the cause.  If you don't know the cause of a situation, it is impossible to fix it.

North Korea is flexing it's muscles right now because they know (along with the rest of the world) that militarily right now we are spread so thin it's ridiculous.  Wonder what caused that?  And your solution to North Korea would be?  Perhaps an invasion--- with what?  Are you ready to implement a draft for this purpose?  Maybe we should just nuke them?  I don't think Russia would be too happy about that, especially when we're getting ready to renew nuke disarmament treaties with them.  So what are our options?  How about talking to other countries (aka 6-party talks) and getting some backup?  That is what's happening in that situation.

Why do you think so many in the Middle East hate us so desparately?  Could it be that our foreign policy over there has been absolutely dreadful?  Maybe it's because we treat Isreal like a shrine and provide them with the means to terrorize the region, and all we do for other countries in the area is trade out dictators -- the same ones that would treat women like dirt?  Keep in mind that we facilitated the rise of Sadaam.

My answer to this is exactly what Obama is doing.  Talk to other countries.  Work with them instead of trying to rule them.  Accept the fact that everyone in the world does not share our ideas of freedom or our perception of how things should be done.  This is the kind of thinking that will lead to a more stable Middle East (as well as other volitile regions) because this is the kind of thinking that will change US foreign policy --- something that is long overdue.

BTW, China is right.  We are the cause of the economic mess the world is in.  They are simply stating facts.

You call a difference in perception a lie?!
What's wrong with you and the others that you are always calling people liars?  I mean that is a serious question.  You don't know me, I don't know you.  I have no preconceived notions about any of you.  I just thought things were handled badly, however, to call ME a liar because I perceived something differently....that's kind of disturbing to me. And certainly not a place open to discussion.  I'll go back to the Yahoo board I usually post on.  I don't recall anyone ever calling anyone a liar on there.  It must be this board.  LOL.
Perception and spin are so interesting

The shoe-throwing incident is a perfect example.  I saw Bush pretty nimbly dodging the thrown shoe, not ducking or "cowering" as some of the MSM talking heads described it, just whipping his torso to the side briefly, and centering up again with remarkable aplomb.

Wondering what he was supposed to do:  Stand still and get smacked?    Execute a perfect tai kwon do block?  Catch and throw it back?   Just askin'.......
