In Reply to: I cannot believe this board tonight!!! - Amanda
I too am a bit saddened by the posts I see on the board today. I used to have stimulating "conversations" here. Sure we didn't get along on issues, but reading the posts gave me insights into things I didn't know. It also gave me links to articles that I could read and decide for myself.
But today I'm not seeing any issues. There have been a lot of comments made that offend people and from what I can tell it's a huge Obama gloat party and evidently rubbing it into the faces of those who don't agree. I'm not seeing any issues and I'm trying to get past the glee posts of O winning. We all know he won. Yes we know people are happy but it looks like the same people are posting the same thing over and over and over and now this board is being taken over by the liberals and I'm not getting anything of interest anymore.
I really wish the moderator would separate out the two boards, so the people who want to post positive about Obama have the freedom to do so without being bashed and the people who want to post about issues and articles can do so without being bashed. I think it would separate a lot of people (kind of like when my mom had to put my sister and me in separate rooms when we were fighting when we were little - ha ha).
I really wish we could all get along, but this is not a perfect world. You can't even speak your own mind anymore without getting bashed for having your own thoughts.
Moderator - if you are reading this would it be possible to separate these two boards and have a conservative board and a liberal board. I think it would help to alleviate a lot of the bashing and hard feelings going on.
Thank you. - And thank you for your post Amanda.

You are 100% right on - very eloquently said
You said what a lot of us feel. This creepy worshipping of Obama is getting totally out of hand. It's a cult and people have lost any shred of sanity they supposely used to have. Being "giddy" or caught up in the raptures of joy, or crying as he passes by or swooning at the mere mention of his name. The last time I saw this was I believe with David Koresh, Marshall Applewhite, or Jim Jones. People have lost all sense of reality and it's pretty darn creepy and scary. Heck it's just plain ol "FREAKY"!!!!!
Then of course when you don't share in the euphoria they are going through like a trip on a batch of bad shrooms you are attacked.
I watched it unfolding during the elections with the people who were planted to perform their phony fainting rituals, so their savior could be the hero to offer them a bottle of water. Talk about being so obvious. But it didn't stop there. Now people as a poster below is claiming (and you mentioned here) that he's just like one of us - and why? Because he eats a chili dog and cheese fries just like we do. All the while do these people post anything about his policies, plans, etc. No, just the silly trivial worshipping things about people swooming, fainting, crying, and going into a transe as he passes by.
Couple things in particular you said were right on. He is being innaugerated NOT coronated. Yet people treat him like he is a king. It's like they are still sleeping and haven't learned that we have presidents, not kings. And just because Farakhan called him the messiah, and even Obama eluding to the same thing in some of his speeches, he is not the messiah, second coming or whatever they want to call it.
The other issue you were right on about I agree with is your last paragraph. He is merely a man wrongfull elected. People need to wake up and realize he was already picked a long time ago by the same people who run this country. The people had nothing to do with him being elected. If they did AL Gore would have been president. Unfortunately this person is now in the most powerful position in the world and that for sure is a very unsettling feeling. We will not be sleeping so comfortably at nights knowing other countries know what they know about him and will use it to their advantage and there will be nothing he can do.
I agree too...he's like us because he eats chili dogs and cheese fries???? Sheesh!!!
I wish I could have said it as eloquently sm
as you did.
We are increasingly turning our back on God and he is increasingly lifting his hand of protection off of this country. The "godless" folks don't have a clue what that means either. They will when its too late.
Thank you all for so eloquently proving my point
in showing that you all have no idea what Christianity is all about. In one breath you are praising Christ and all his attributes, but in the next breath you reject Him. You embrace all the good, loving, warm fuzzy attributes of Christ, but you neglect to see what his sole purpose in coming to Earth was and that was die to atone for our sins and the evil wrought in this world. Christ cannot look upon sin, and we are all sinners every one of us, and that's why he had to die. He took the spiritual death we should have had to face ourselves. That's not warm and fuzzy, but it's certainly love above all comprehension. All He asks is that we accept His atonement and turn from our wicked ways. It doesn't make us perfect sinless people, but it changes our heart and how we look at the world.
Personally, I don't agree with everything Pat Robertson says because Pat Robertson is not God. He's a man, but there is a certainly a judgemental side of God. I hope many of you can see that before you face him as your judge once you leave this Earth. Then it will be too late to change your mind. I hope you won't let people like Pat Robertson or even someone like me keep you from truly knowing the love of Jesus Christ.
Now that I've totally violated board rules by evangelizing on the politics board I will leave.
Bigotry is blind as you have so eloquently illustrated.
Canadians, progressive Americans, Pakistanis, the French, Saudis and a whole bunch of other folks understand that we now live in a global community. The internet has been a great equilizer...where anybody anywhere can weigh in and get the respect they deserve, even when they are "diffefrent" from us or when they disagree. The global community is a nice place to live. It's in the here and now, not mired in the past. Why don't you get with the program and try it out sometime? It beats the heck out of fear and hate.
