I am democrat but I have to say, this was the worst I've seen it in a long time. I didn't vote for Obama because I think he is as crooked as he can be, maybe moreso that a lot of others up there. I don't trust his affiliations. I saw early on that the ONLY people he is worried about is the Muslim nations......aaahh, last time I checked, that ain't us!
I realize why some people voted for him, but I actually care about what's going on. And now he's showing his true colors.
I noticed all throughout the campaign, any time someone apposed Obama, they got slammed with Palin and McCain......why? Just because I do not care for Obama certainly doesn't mean I care for Palin either. Thre were a lot of democrats who did vote for McCain simply because their gut instinct was that of not trusting Obama's true intentions.......

Self-education is so important. It has caused a total shift in paradigm for me. As an example, I was led to believe something very different about JFK by my very Republican family and friends. They continue to assassinate his character to this day. If Kennedy lived, America would be totally different now. He tried to dismantle the Federal Reserve, get the troops out of South Vietnam, and truly govern the people.

This flu is nothing that just happened. It's 3 strains in one and was created in a lab.
So there was a coincidence in the timing of who was awarded a contract. She didn't say that Obama created this which is what your making it out to be. A lot of weird timings of stuff going on, but for Pete's sake stop turning something she pointed out into something she did not say.
I don't agree with the OPs statement about will Cheney come back and say I told you so, because this is not the concern of safety Cheney talked about.
I do believe there is more to the story that needs to be looked into.

It all turned out to be a misunderstanding by argumentative student that took something that Mr. Latham said, twisted it, and reported it to the principal. Once the misunderstanding was cleared up after all parties told their stories, Mr. Latham has his job back. Just another example of those ambulance chasers at Fox stirring the pot for their own hateful agenda. on Obama about his support of the bailout because then he might have to respond to the question of exactly what does McC support in this situation? He does not say what he will support because he wants to test the wind before he declares his opinion. He went back to Wash and got everyone fighting and then left. I loved Obama's chuckle when McC tried to compare Obama to Bush. It was my favorite moment of the debate. He has a great smile. I wonder who he was looking at to his left. This inauguration stuff is really on my nerves (and I voted for Obama.....er against McCain). I know this is an historic event and there have always been these big expensive parties. If we're going to have change, how about starting with this ridiculous spending? How many people actually get to attend the party? Not me. How about you? Probably not many of the common folks. We have 3 teachers from our local school who are attending the inauguration. They won't be attending the party either.
I am still not sorry I voted for Obama but there are already a few things that aren't sitting well with me. The extravagant party is 1 and his plan to give a "rebate" even to people who don't pay taxes is the other. The world IMHO has gone totally mad. Someone told me the other day that on the Christmas Angel tree for adults someone had put cigarettes as what they wanted. I don't know if this is true or not but I wouldn't doubt it. If soneone actually did that...the bloody nerve!
Anyway, I won't get on my soap box but we will see what we see.

These press conferences are to let everyone know who's going to be in his cabinet and to reiterate that he had no contact with Blago. Why does he keep saying this? He supposedly is going to release documents "next week" that will prove it. So, I will wait until next week.
I just read an article by Morton Kondracke in the local newspaper where his health plan cost may top $3 TRILLION. That's almost as bad as the bailout plus. Where does he think this money is going to come from? THAT's the question I want answered.
All his other lofty promises, too. All will cost money. Who's going to pay? He can't tax the businesses as they are the key to jobs and, if he does that, the jobs will be gone. He can't tax the working people because, if he does that, he's backing out on his promise plus the working people can't take any more taxes.
With unemployment at such high rates and more every day, how long do you think unemployment benefits will last? Already Michigan and another state have 0 balances in their unemployment benefit chest. The governor of PA (Rendell) stated he only has enough employment benefits in the coffer to last 6 months IF there are no more people opening a claim. Without people working, they aren't paying taxes. Without tax money, the government can't provide benefits. Even SS is at risk to run out before the stated time mentioned a year or 2 ago.
So tell me, will he wave a magic wand and the money will appear? Probably, which will lower our dollar purchasing power and put us more into debt.
It's time for people to wake up. The depression is here. The reason the O read about FDR is to try and figure out what to do, but FDR didn't have a crisis such as this. This is above and beyond anything that ever happened.
Jump start the economy
Do you seriously think that jobs in alternative fuel sources will start within the next year? I think not. This was supposed to a STIMULUS bill, something that would jump start the economy...anything long term should have gone into the regular budget. No common sense, just want to look good for the cameras.

What Obama is doing is rescinding the Bush bill. He's not putting out a new law that MAKES people do procedures they consider unethical. So basically if you work in the medical field and you didn't do abortions before this bill, chances are that noone is going to MAKE you do them in the future. I think Bush's bill was more targeted towards support services -- for example people who work at a pharmacy who don't believe in the morning after pill. The point I get from all this is that if you don't want to do abortions, don't work in an abortion clinic. The way you guys are describing it, I could make an orthodontist do brain surgery. Let's try reality for a while.

I am NO conspiracy theorist and i am no fan of Obama, but my on/off boyfriend has become a born again Christian due to seraching youtube for "7 Strange Coincidences".
He just called me near tears saying he wants me to be saved. This is COMPLETELY not like him. He tells me he is now following in the footsteps of Jesus, trying not to sin. etc (which of course is NOT a bad thing to me) but anyways

Four of my family members are loan officers and this became a huge issue with them. Strange they knew the govt was forcing these loans down their throats and this was a huge issue with them. They were furious these practices were being put into place. They refused to loan, however, and 2 nearly lost their jobs because they refused to give out subprime loans to those they knew perfectly well could not afford a home. Yes, they were being forced to give these loans.....this didn't come from your little TV programs; this came from the ones caught in the middle of this crap. Too bad they weren't making a mint on this junk.....unfortunately, they were just having to follow the guidelines for loans that were enforced on them by the government.

First reaction is if these issues, which have been posted on O's website ever since he launched his campaign, are of such sudden concern to the cons and femocons, why did they not get addressed during the RNC? Therefore, your offshore, job loss, and massive flight to lower income argument does not hold water on this point. Please cite the right-wing rag you have taken this $6 billion dollar additional tax on small business claim. I'm not finding that in O's plan. The tax breaks to the "lower brackets" (losing their homes, can't decide whether to get medicine or food this month, and if they are lucky, can gas their tank once a month) is addressed below.
On the plight of the struggling rich. Define rich, please. From the bottom, INDIVIDUAL incomes in excess of $250,000/yr might look about right. From the top, $5 million a year maybe (one of McC's not-so-funny jokes, some would wonder). The 90% of the federal tax bill claim must be a typo. In the United States at the end of 2001, 10% of the population owned 71% of the wealth, and the top 1% controlled 38%. On the other hand, the bottom 40% owned less than 1% of the nation's wealth. Let's say that one more time. Top 1% gets 38%, bottom 40% get less than 1%. Since they are not earning a living wage, probably that is why they cannot afford to pay tax. Got the picture?
There is only one reason our long suffering corporations are taking their business overseas. Greed. They do not want to pay their share and they get tax incentives currently for outsourcing. Do not take us down the path of needing to address sweat shop working conditions, 7-day work weeks, $2/day wages in developing countries where US labor laws do not apply. Greed is not a universal American value.
